Pretty Poison – Catch Me (I’m Falling) (Spanish Ultimix) (US 12″ Promo)

BURNING THE GROUND EXCLUSIVE 1987

“Catch Me (I’m Falling)” is a dance-pop song released by the American group Pretty Poison in 1987. It was included on the soundtrack to the film Hiding Out, which starred Jon Cryer and came out the same year; the song later appeared on Pretty Poison’s debut album, Catch Me I’m Falling (1988). It was the group’s biggest hit single to date, peaking at number one on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart in late September 1987. Later that same year, the song charted inside the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100 chart, peaking at number eight and remaining in the top 40 for 14 weeks. The single was certified gold by the RIAA on March 9, 1989. In the UK the song entered the Top 100 for two weeks at the end of January 1988 and peaked at number 85.

The same mix appears on both sides of this U.S. 12″ promo.

Hey Paul Just found your site… already i am a big fan !

I could not believe i hadn’t heard of pretty poison when i first stumbled on a bad mp3 of their LP many years ago.

Were any other 12″s released ? I particularly liked “The Look”

Also just asking do you accept any records for digital translation or any 24bit transcodes yourself ? (i am in oz and have a 80’s collection) i wanted to send you some of my 12″s

Cheers !

Now this is a very cool entry to your site Paul!! I love Pretty Poison and love how you ripped the original 12-inch for BTG. I am really excited that this new version exists and from none other than Bradley D. Hinkle and Les Massangale. I’ve always admired the work from these two gentlemen and their wonderful Remix Service. I also thought that it was the greatest thing too when a major label would feature the work from ground breaking remix service talents. This is such a treat. I loved this time period for music like this. Latin Hip Hop… Read more »

Nice choice! I bought the Hiding Out soundtrack album for the Boy George song, “Live My Life”, but found most of it to be great songs, this one included. I have never heard this or any other 12″ version before, so I’m looking forward to it, thank you as always for sharing!
