Thanks Paul. I always dig Grace Jones. Maybe you could have a go at the Bulletproof-album, as the sound of most of those originals was always like a flat copy – like with Muse. Still The Compass Points will always be my favs. (And yes, maybe any more unreleased tracks? I recall a dub of Nipple, and hope for a dub on The Apple..if that ever was created ofcourse. May I make one, May I, Universal, please?) Hail to La Grace for her attacks on heartless corporated machine-people. AttackS, as with Corporate Cannibal she stamped her foot on that one… Read more »

Not really one of my GJ favourites (by far) – I prefered the European single Victor.
The b-side, though, is FANTASTIC. Awesome song. Thank you Paul.

Inside Story is a very underrated Grace Jones album. Unfortunately, some of the songs chosen for singles – Crush & Party Girl – were not the best choices. On the other hand, I was glad to see this album given some attention with the remixes & dubs. The title song is my favorite from the album even though it would not have been a good single choice. Chan & Barefoot in Beverly Hills would have been better choices after the obvious first single, I’m Not Perfect. Victor should have made a bigger splash than it did though I don’t think… Read more »

I agree that Crush wasn’t a great track – Victor was definitely a better choice as a single – but I loved Party Girl.

That notwithstanding, thanks for putting some Grace in our face, Paul.

Maybe Crush is just an average song, but wow!, what a production, mix and sound on this 12″! That kick and snare sound as they were in my room, nice stereo fx all over the place,
some real 80s studio masters at work here. The mix for the album track White Collar Crime
also sounds marvelous! Praises for presenting us this great 12″.

It is always a special occasion when you feature Ms. Grace Jones on your site Paul. And what a pleasure it is. It’s because of you that I know so much of her 12-inch oeuvre. Nobody is quite like this woman and I feel she doesn’t get the full credit for shaping modern performers like she really should. Grace is such the artists and icon. I someday hope the Industry giver her her due. I’m jazzed to hear these versions of this song. Grace can’t do no wrong in my book. Thank you again Paul for celebrating Ms. Jones like… Read more »

I love what Davos Via 45 said about this 12-inch. Yes, Paul, what a superior sounding record this is. And those stereo f/x really fill up the sonic space. And that dub version is tops too. I love this. And is it because of your new equipment too that sets this apart? Paul, you really stun me. Today I was listening to a lot of your stuff and whoa, they sound phenomenal, but this twelve sounds really, really,…REALLY FANTASTIC!! I marvel at your marvelousness!!

Still Swooning (and drooling too!!!),

Jeff

Yep great rip have to agree the Dynamics on this one are earth shattering. And you will only find it on a master tape or 45rpm and this is before the loudness war ! I have done a lot of vinyl rips myself and Paul’s are the cleanest. It’s not a simple job. Pop and clicks can only be done manually after having the best gear to start with. Automatic solutions usually leave terrible artefacts and make it sound like a bad mp3. So Paul does a lot of work to bring them to us. My only question for Paul… Read more »

I prefer the jazzy White Collar Crime. Btw Paul do you have some rare 7” edits by Grace, like Nipple To The Bottle and I’m Not Perfect? Thanks.
