Although I heard this before (never had the 12″, but it’s at least on two 80s CD compilations), I never listened to it so closely as now. It’s pure joy to hear this fantastic 80s extended mix productions. The bassline strongly reminds me of Hall & Oates songs. Not that powerful as Bridge To Your Heart. but worthy to be on BTG! Speaking of Bridge To Your Heart, which I played countless times in the club, both single and extended version, always was a huge floor mover!

Wow! This is another track that I have totally forgotten up until today. I had to search for it and it sure jogged my memory of how much I enjoyed this track. I don’t remember the extended version but sure glad that you shared this on here. Thank you so much for this Dj PaulT!

Great choice!

I saw Graham Gouldman perform on his acoustic solo tour just last month. He played a few Wax songs, though not this one, unfortunately. Such a great songwriter he is! 🙂

Thank you, Paul. This is one of my all time favorite. This song takes me back to the club in the 80s and brings a lot of memories.
There’s another one from Wax called Get Loose. I listened once an extended version (about 5 min) but could never find it even in mp3. Hear no evil is another gem not sure an extended was ever produced.

This track has a classic ‘bridge’ section –

“You, you shattered my resistance, yes it’s true,
You battered my defenses, what could I do?
I’m running from the heat between me and you.”

Great melody.

This is one of my Wax all time favorites! I’ve discovered Was when listened to Ball and chain (chainsaw mix) which was an incredible mix back in 1985. Then I’ve listened to American English and Bridge to your heart from the Peter’s Pop Show in Germany and bought the LP right away! In 2000 I’ve ordered a VHS tape from Andrew with some of his best hits of the 80s. I remember he had a website that someone could order media. Unfortunately, the multi-talented Wax singer passed away in 2011. Thank you very much Paul! PS. I hope the maxi… Read more »

Thanks for posting this Paul, I don’t actually remember this track, I’ve listened to it and it’s a great tune.
I do remember Wax performing Bridge to Your Heart on Top Of The Pops in 1987, and thinking one of the band members looked familiar, then realized it was Graham Gouldman from 10cc. Bridge to Your Heart was always playing regularly on UK radio, while I was at work.

Paul this embarrassing but I never checked out Wax before ! Thanks for opening my eyes !

I just got a 24/192 of American English and please please tell me there was 12″ of “In Some Other World” that is instantly my favourite track of all time !!!

Also been busy the past few few days… As an Ausie can’t thank you enough for some more icehouse ! But I am begging on my knees for a decent rip of “Electric Blue”

Doing gods work Paul… Keep it 80’s

Brilliant choice of track, Paul, but for me the real sonic revelation is the b-side (and album track) “Only A Visitor”. On the various CDs I’ve had over the years it’s always sounded a bit muddy but here it’s as clear as a bell. Great job as always.

Hey Paul!! This was such a jolt of electricity for me! And judging by the rest of the reviews, I can tell how much the community loves this song!! After reading the glowing raves, I couldn’t wait to get on home to listen to this record. I was not familiar with this tune at all, but I know Andrew Gold and 10CC, so I knew it had to have something. Well, I love this. Thanks so very much for this energetic and fun dance confection. You can’t help but smile and be transported to a happier place. Gosh Paul, you… Read more »

This is an amazing post, i remember was so difficult to me get this extended in Mexico, for us was an European Import and not easy to find, all i found was the american 12 Inch that has nothing to do withs this remix. I finally get the vinyl from a friend who travel to France and find it for me, long time ago.

Thanks for the memories.

Blessings Paul.

Wow Paul! This is another great post. If I am not wrong this remix has never been issued on CD. I also love the singles “Bridge to your heart” and “Wherever you are”. Thank you so much.

THANK YOU !!!
Love this uplifting song.
It’s recorded on one of old old CD-R, and I’m not able to rip it and put on my walkman. Thank you again. This is a gem.
