Once again I’m amazed how many awesome songs have been made in the 80s and I forgot about them or didn’t listen to them for years! You can’t go wrong with any mix, it’s such a terrific song! Album Mix, Mad Mix, Manic Mix (on CD releases labeled 12″ Mix) and the phenomenal ambiental-chill-out, Midnight Mix. Just WOW!

Icehouse got my attention with the production Hey Little Girl.
(Misprints eyh.. Thanks for clearing that up. Such an annoying puzzle, no Paul?
And again I say, it’s disrespectful and shows ignorance by more than one person in the line. I wonder if they would mistype their bankaccountnumber on their contracts.)

Thanks for this Paul.

One thing I found recently on a reissue copy of Man of Colours (Australian reissue) is that the LP version of Crazy is the European / Australian short single version. So it seems the long LP version we know in the states (and from the US video version) is not the version on the original Aussie LP. Hmm, as a matter of fact, I just checked the reissue on the American iTunes store. Indeed, the LP version of Crazy is not the long version from the 80s US CD, but the international short LP version.

Thanks Paul. I love Icehouse. As far as I know “Completely gone” has never been released on CD. You’re right, the sound on the “12 Inch Versions & Remixes” compilations is really bad. That’s nothing to compare with your crystal clean rip.

Paul,

This is GREAT! Been trying to get a crystal clean rip of ‘Completely Gone’ for ages!

Paul!!!

I’m in heaven over this post. I really like this band, but I’m not overly familiar with their 12-inch catalog. You can’t go wrong when you post rock mixes as they, well, just….ROCK!! So awesome!!

Jeff,

Check out their 12″ Versions & Remixes compilations. Two volumes and the second has a cut down version of ‘Full Circle’ included.

I think I may have to Tim, because I really like this band and I’m all for 12-inch versions. I so wish Paul could be asked to be the person to have final say on re-mastered projects because he really does know best. I mean, this single sounds extraordinary in his hands. God bless those ears of his!!!

Oh Paul, you do know me so very well!!! “Completely Gone” is so up my alley. It’s quite manic and crazy. I love experimental dance records; the more berserk the better!! Kind of cool that they backed the single up with this wild piece of music. Most excellent!!
