“Street Beat” was a single released between Toni Basil’s two solo albums in 1983. Without a music video, the single failed to chart on the Billboard Hot 100, but it did peak at #63 on the Hot Dance Club Play. Good one, Paul! I wish Toni Basil had had more success here in the U.S. and wasn’t just known for that one song… She was (and still is) so very talented, plus she’s a delightful person.
Hands down, this is my favorite Toni Basil record!!! This even got some airplay in the New York area and that’s how it came to my attention in the first place!! Love the energy and what John Luongo did to it. There really should have been a music video because it would have made the single quite successful. Wow Paul, you’re pushing the right buttons, and I feel like a screaming “O” coming on!!!
Worshiping you, as always!!
Jeff
Thank you, Jeff I like this record so much more than “Mickey” this was a missed opportunity for a hit record.
hello paul, as always an excellent material, thank you very much and take care of yourself
You’re welcome, pablo 🙂
