This song was by far the best new way club song in the 80’s along with the Endgames hit “Firstl Last, Everything”!

This vinyl song was hard to obtain in Toronto, Canada back in the day/

Now if you have Hashim hit “Al-Nayfish”, we make it a trio! 🙂

Great job Paul.

@Jeff, I only knew the one Hillary song “Drop Your Pants”. I wish that album would be reissued. Not sure I’ve heard the rest of it besides the one song. Until December is one of my faves, and it’s hard to find their stuff anywhere. Would love to see if Paul has the Plus One song. Would be happy to share it with anyone who is interested, if that’s allowed.

Wow! This is great. Definitely reminds me a little of Erasure,… and dare I say… Duran Duran? I’ve never heard of these guys, nor ever heard this song. Thanks Paul for this. I have a little special list here to share of some obscure and little heard of songs and bands… 1. Until December – Their song “Until December” they also had other great songs “We Are The Boys”, “Heaven”, “Secrets (I Won’t Tell)”…. (Maybe look up the song by them titled “Until December” (same name as the band, they were a San Francisco band, very much in to the… Read more »

Fantastic list, memoryboy. I know all the tracks you’ve mentioned, except the Plus One song. LOVED, Hilary. Her “Kinetic” was also huge in the New Wave Clubs. And, I really dig Until December as well. “Taste So Good” became a personal favorite of mine, and I consider this one a cult classic. It even wound up on a Rhino compilation. They also had a follow-up with a song called, “Party Line” based on the fad of telephone party lines that were happening back in the 80’s and 90’s. Glad you like The Puppets record. This was really big on NYC… Read more »

Plus One “Nevermore” was huge on C89 in Seattle.

Paul, you just saved me roughly a half hour of fighting an audio cable and transfering/editing time! I just got this record (and a few others, including a Silicon Teens record) a couple of weeks ago.

Oh Paul!!! You are scaring me!! I’ve had this song on my mind all day long. Even looking for it on Amazon and in Discogs!! This was such a favorite of mine and I could never find it anywhere on any compilation. I heard it was on a “Hardest Hits” volume, but could never locate that issue. And now, with you, I finally have it, but in such stellar quality!!! Although, I haven’t even downloaded it yet, I know it is going to be……..A—MAAAAAA-ZIIIING!!! Because, with you, it is ALWAYS A GIVEN!!!! They used to play this all the time… Read more »

But that’s the importance of you Paul, and your Burning The Ground. You give these sorts of records a second chance, a brand new incarnation so people who missed out on a song the first time around, can hear what few people already know. You’re our audio archivist. Dance Music sometimes doesn’t get the attention and/or the appreciation it surely deserves. I love how you are all about second chances for a song to get into the collective-consciousness. It’s a gentle nudge to all those who would never have had the chance to experience these slabs of vinyl. These are… Read more »
