Device – Hanging On A Heart Attack (US 12″)

BURNING THE GROUND EXCLUSIVE 1986

Device was a short-lived L.A. basedpop-rock trio formed by keyboardist, bassist and vocalist Holly Knight, vocalist Paul Engemann and guitarist Gene Black.

Device’s only album, 22B3, was released in the spring of 1986. It produced a Top 40 single in the U.S. with “Hanging on a Heart Attack,” which entered the Billboard Top 40 on August 2, 1986. The single spent 4 weeks on the chart peaking at #35.

Fleetwood Mac – Seven Wonders (US 12″)

BURNING THE GROUND EXCLUSIVE 1987

“Seven Wonders” is a song by Fleetwood Mac. It was released as the second single from the band’s 1987 album Tango in the Night. Stevie Nicks performed the lead vocals on this song, which was written by Sandy Stewart with additional lyrics written by Nicks. The song was also released as a 12-inch single, which included an extended remix, a dub mix, and an instrumental, “Book of Miracles”, which later became the track “Juliet” on Nicks’ 1989 album The Other Side of the Mirror.

“Seven Wonders” peaked at the #19 position on the US Hot 100 and #56 on the UK singles chart.

REQUEST

Remember KId Creole & The Coconuts? In 1983, these lovely trio of Coconuts released a dance version of “If I Only Had A Brain” from the classic movie, “The Wizard Of Oz”.

This song was produced by Kid Creole himself, August Darnell.

Unfortunately, their version failed to enter Billboard’s Hot 100 chart, settling for a peak position at #108 on Billboard’s Bubbling Under chart.

This was their 2nd single from their album, “Don’t Take My Coconuts”. Their 1st single, “Did You Have To Love Me Like You Did”, never charted in the US, but did peak at #60 on the UK charts.
