“Wham! U.K. Mega Mix” is a 1983 U.S.-only promotional 12″ single released by Wham! U.K. as they were called in America on Clumbia/Innervision Records. The medley was mixed by DMC’s Alan Couthard, and was possibly the U.S. version of the “Club Fantastic Megamix” which was also mixed by Couthard. This single has never been released in any other format. This 12″ is a precious rarity for any complete Wham! collection.

Amii Stewart – Knock On Wood (Ash 48) / Light My Fire (137 Disco Heaven) (New Remix) (UK 12″)

BURNING THE GROUND EXCLUSIVE 1985

Celebrating Pride Month!

“Knock on Wood” is a 1966 hit song written by Eddie Floyd and Steve Cropper and originally performed by Floyd.

In 1979 American soul/disco singer Amii Stewart released a disco version of the song. It reached number one in the U.S. charts in April 1979; it also made it to the soul singles and disco charts, becoming the best-known version of the song. This recording was co-produced by Simon May. It reached the Top 10 twice in the UK, first in 1979 (peaking at number 6) and again in a remixed version backed with “Light My Fire” / “137 Disco Heaven” in 1985 (peaking at number 7).

“Knock On Wood” would become one of the “anthems for the LGBTQ community.”
