Oooo, loved seeing this pop up! I love everything you post, with a special intrigue in some of the recent posts of big pop stars who put out remix singles (Billy Joel, Rod Stewart). It’s a joy to see this pop up, because this would be almost impossible to find elsewhere and certainly hasn’t been for sale in decades 🙂 So thanks a lot DJPaul!

Woooow LOVE THIS SONG….how did this great song only reach 83rd billboard? I think it was an error of the record label since after LOVE TOUCH It take as the second single ANOTHER HEARTACHE …. 😞😞😞😞 … always wondering that … THANK PAUL

Thanks Paul!

Always a favourite of mine from my mum’s favourite singer! It was very unlucky not to reach No. 1 here in the UK in 1986 – stopped by Madonna’s Papa Don’t Preach.

Great post Paul, love a lot of Rod’s songs especially this song. Rod Stewart’s single Every Beat Of My Heart did very well in the charts compared to the other 3 singles from the same album (Every Beat of My Heart). On the album is a cover of The Beatles “In My Life”. The next album (1988) was called Out of Order featuring Andy Taylor (Duran Duran), Bernard Edwards (Chic)and Tony Thompson (Chic), these 3 muscians were also together in The Power Station. Have you got the 12″ of Julian Lennon ‎”Saltwater” (1991), “Cre Que Voy A Llorar” is spanish… Read more »

I love your introductions to records, especially 12-inch mixes I’m not familiar with. Paul, you are a music angel, just like Daniel says. I am so excited to check this out later on. Wow!! You really are a godsend with what you do.

Many thanks,

Jeff

Wow Paul! What an amazing week this is. After Billy Joel now Rod Stewart. This post just blows me away. I´m completely overwhelmed with emotion right now. This is such a beautiful ballad. I love it since I heard it for the first time back in 1986. It was a big hit over here in Europe. I love in particular this 12″ mix. Shame on the record compagny they never released it on CD or digitally. Fortunately we have you Paul. You gift us with this golden rip in pristine quality as usually. I´m so happy right now. Thanks a… Read more »

Oooh, great! Unbelievable that Warner is neglecting all his 12 inch versions for decades now. Beats me! I’m very happy with this post, was waiting for it. I hoped for the German pressing from Alsdorf. They always used a high quality vinyl, no flaws or additional surface noises and with an exceptional low static energy. If possible they’d make the run out groove as long as possible, keeping the music grooves mostly in the beginning or halfway the record, assuring optimal sound quality. Clean pressings with the hole right in the middle. Warner UK pressings were mostly half that good.… Read more »

On this note, I am still hoping for a decent pressing of Viola Will’s If you could read my mind – remix. The final minutes sound horrible, with the groove running right up to the paper. I have the same pressing as Paul and appreciate Paul’s effort, I never came across a decent release.
