“Dreiklangs-Dimensionen” was the most succesful single by Rheingold a German New Wave group that consisted of Bodo Staiger (vocals, guitar), Lothar Manteuffel (lyrics) und Brigitte Kunze (keyboard). They sang both in German and English and released three LP’s and several singles between 1980 and 1984.
Lothar Manteuffel teamed up with former Kraftwerk musician Karl Bartos to form Elektric Music and Bodo Staiger was working with ex Kraftwerk member Wolfgang Flür and today he’s busy as a music producer.

This song is one of the few I later imagined being covered by Grace Jones, in her Compass Point Style. I mean that as a compliment, ha! Would’ve been a great outtake for Warm Leatherette?
But anyway, this one-day-fly from the boombox-decade now gets another chance to blast in full stereo audio in its own right, so again thank you.

Now that´s a surprise. I didn´t know anyone outside Germany ever heard of Rheingold. I have always loved “Dreiklangsdimensionen”. It´s so kraftwerk and yet so different. The b-side is so “neue deutsche welle” (“new german wave”) from the early seventies. Gosh, I love it. You should have been hear back then. German music was turned around 180 degrees in those days.
