Thanks, haven’t heard this one but it’s Pete Shelley, got to have it!
Thank you very much Paul.
Never heard of this one but it’s absolutely brilliant!! Thanks Paul!
(New amp sounds good! I have the same one.)
Just to let you know, the new Pete Shelley – Telephone Operator (UK 12″) transfer disappeared from the main page for an unknown reason. It’s the previous Madonna title which is on top.
It’s hard to believe when it comes to this… as our favorites join the dance of the dead. This music exists in another place where something like growing old and dying of a heart attack never happens. Though we all grow older by the day, this music never dies. Thank you Paul for playing the music.
Thanks Paul . Pete Shelley was awesome. I must say i liked his solo stuff more than the Buzzcocks. (Millions Of People) No One lIke You was my favorite smile by him.
Hi Paul, thanks for this rip of my favourite Pete Shelley song. I never followed his music with Buzzcocks, but I always liked his solo albums. Sorry to hear of his passing, especially as he was still so young.
Thanks Paul. Glad you made this post.
I only really know Buzzcocks stuff, in fact I didn’t even know Pete Shelley had had a solo career until you started posting tracks a few years ago.
This one reminds me a little of Something’s Gone Wrong Again by Buzzcocks, albeit much more electronic.
Happy to introduce you to Pete Shelley’s solo work Jermajesty 🙂
Oddly, the track “Many A Time (Extended Version)” is no more extended than the album version. they’re identical.
Since your post about the passing of Pete Shelley, I’ve been really thinking about the man. He was amazing as a musician and person. With the Buzzcocks his music was about so many different things. Punk usually was political, but Mr. Shelley sang about a whole spectrum of things. I was also delighted in hearing that he championed LBGTQ rights. He was sexually fluid before the term came about too. I am so thrilled that you’re posting his “Telephone Operator” Paul. I come to you for quality and that’s what you always deliver in gangbusters!! I always consider myself privileged… Read more »
This is a pretty big loss for the electronic/synth-pop world. Pete left us with a legacy of great music. Enjoy Jeff 🙂
A fitting tribute! RIP Pete Shelley! This track will always remind me of the Summer of 1983. Thank you for the lossless rip Paul! 🙂
You’re welcome Mr. Feutz 🙂
