Pete Shelley – On Your Own (US 12″)

BURNING THE GROUND EXCLUSIVE 1986

“On Your Own” is a single released by English singer, songwriter and guitarist Pete Shelley. The song was taken from Shelley’s fifth solo album Heaven and the Sea (1986). Unlike many of Pete Shelley’s earlier singles “On Your Own” which was produced by American producer Stephen Hague has a more mature polished sound and lacks the nervous pop energy that was a hallmark of those earlier records. “On Your Own” failed to chart in the U.K. but fared much better in the United States where it peaked at #10 on the Billboard Dance chart on August 2, 1986, becoming Pete Shelley’s fifth and final charting single in the USA.

Still a problem for me. I am on my iPhone on cell data and I even cleared all my safari history and cache and am being taken to various old postings when I go directly to the main website. I cannot find today’s post (Wednesday). It would be nice if for the next few days Paul could put links to the post on the about webpage or somewhere else until this is fixed Since others are reporting the problem this is definitely the hosting company. I have tried my iPhone with safari and my windows machine with Firefox and chrome… Read more »

Hi. Ok…I went to your FB page and it seems you did not post anything today (Wednesday). Is that correct? If not, can you please reply here with the direct link to today’s post?

Thanks!

Hi Paul,

Your website is showing the Madonna Live to Tell on the homepage…I’ve been trying my iPhone and home computer with multiple browsers and it’s all the same. This happened a few days ago but was fixed within an hour…today it’s been like this all day.

It’s not my side as I have been trying the cell tower and my ISP…private browsing, refresh, clearing cache, etc. Sounds like your provider has an issue or something is stuck in your HTML code somewhere.

PS I only found this post today by click on Live To Tell, then modifying the URL to back up to the 2018/12/ portion

Writing from the car and iPhone took me to some really old 12 inch post. My guess is the main web server is haveing a cache problem. I’m not sure others are going to give you feedback as they may not even know what your latest post is so they won’t see our conversation here.

You may want to open a ticket with your web host to at least see if this is a known problem. I’ve seen this intermittently since a few months ago but today is bad.

I hope my comments help.

Great to see Pete 12″ singles getting some love- especially the “Heaven & the Sea” cuts like this. Hopefully, you have the orphan releases “Never Again” and the “Zip” EP on tap…thanks!
