Holy [blankety-blank-blank] !! This is amazing to find on your site… it’s unexpected, both in terms of what the great Joni Mitchell has released, and in terms of what I normally expect on your wonderful site, so just – thank you! I can’t wait to hear the song “Ethiopia” because of this awesome anecdote I read recently in an article about a new biography of Joni Mitchell… check it out: The song “Ethiopia”, from 1985’s Dog Eat Dog earned a shout out from an equally outspoken female artist: “Nina Simone once saw Joni at the Beverly Center shopping mall. They… Read more »
A nice surprise Paul. Never knew such collaboration exist and on top of that, remixed by Francois Kevorkian. It’s a real gem.
Thanks again.
Another fantastic post Paul, and it’s great that Thomas Dolby was involved in Joni Mitchell’s 1985 album Dog Eat Dog album. I remember in 1985 watching on my TV, David Bowie performing Heroes on Live Aid, and Thomas Dolby was his keyboard player, great performance. In September there was a new David Bowie box set released called A New Career In A New Town, many fans are complaining about track 3 (Heroes) on the 1977 album Heroes, a volume drop at around the 2.50 mark. The record company are saying the drop out is because they’re using the original master… Read more »
I am a big Thomas Dolby Fan and had no idea this existed.

Wow, I never expected to see Joni Mitchell on this site. Awesome, how did I miss this one? You are one eclectic guy. Thank you.
You’re welcome Joey. You just never know what I am gonna dig up 🙂
I’ll check this out later – did you know it was Joni’s birthday today?
It was really weird Jon I did not know it until I started working on this record this morning I must been in synchronicity with Joni lol 🙂
You are indeed a magickal being dear Paul!! You always have me spellbound by your intuitions and selections. You’re almost psychic!!
Jeff
WOW.
I mean, WOW. Never heard that. How could I miss that. Come on, seriously – Joni, Thomas Dolby, Francois Kevorkian?!?! I nearly fainted. Fun A-side, FABULOUS B-side. Love it, just love it.
Thank you, Paul. What a treat. 🙂
You’re so welcome Song_and_Dance 🙂
Your enthusiasm Song_and_Dance is so contagious!! There are certain people here on Paul’s site, like yourself, that adds so much to this great experience of music. Thank you for enhancing Paul’s beautiful musical sanctuary!!
Jeff
What a big surprise! I didn’t expect such music coming from Joni Mitchell. Very interesting. The Kevorkian Remix sounds great. Thank you Paul.
You’re welcome Daniel 🙂
Oh wow! Thanks so much Paul. This one has been on my “must buy” list ever since I discovered it existed a few years back. Joni’s ‘Dog Eat Dog’ album was a favourite in my household when I was growing up and was my first introduction to her. I just about fell off my chair when I saw that one of my favourite tracks from the album had been remixed when I stumbled upon it’s listing on Discogs! And now you’ve saved me the trouble of hunting it down. Legend!
I am so happy that I was able to post this Todd. Enjoy! 🙂
Thanks Paul. This is a welcome surprise.
You’re welcome Omar 🙂
I was bowled over by this addition to your Burning The Ground site, Paul! I mean, WOW!!! Words can’t express your brilliance at showcasing the surprising, the unexpected and startling releases that you pick. You are unbelievable when you add tracks that fully encapsulate everything about the 1980’s in that this decade was all about taking chances and experimentation. I would never have thought of Joni Mitchell working with Thomas Dolby, one of my favorite artists!! It boggles my mind, but I just absolutely love this sort of thing. You can’t be commended enough Paul for what you do here.… Read more »
You’re welcome Jeff. This really is a stellar 12″ the b-sides are great too so relevant. I love when artists like Joni Mitchell branch out into a genre you would never expect. Hope you like this one 🙂
This is such a fabulous single Paul!!! And the two songs on the flip-side are so timely and all. You have the greatest knack for choosing profound songs that speak to the body, mind and spirit. Incredible. And a remix by Francois K. is a very welcome entity in my book. Thank you Paul.
Jeff
Awesome! Thank you so much, Paul! 🙂
You’e welcome Donald 🙂
