Burning The Ground Exclusive 1987

The sophist-pop track was released by A&M Records in the USA but failed to chart. Adams released one more single after “Strip This Heart” before disappearing into music obscurity.

This is nice, thanks.
Looking forward to hearing this, thanks! Really enjoyed Through The Eyes Of Love when you posted that, then discovered that his music is pretty hard to find.
One word: “AWESOME”, absolutely love this song
5 tracks, yes please..
Thanks very much indeed!
Thank you for another obscure 80s song! Always appreciated, as you know! I think the problem with flawlessly produced songs like this is that they sounded too much like other sophisti-pop and blue-eyed soul at the time. But in retrospect, this song certainly stands out from the rest, which is why your website is so important!
Some great sophist-pop! Cut from the same mold as Johnny Hates Jazz and Breathe… Not sure why it fizzled in the US, with all the talent behind it. It even had A&M backing it. Thank you for rescuing it from obscurity in the best ‘Paulity’!!
With 5 great mixes, we’re spoiled, Lol!
This song is wonderful, Paul. Seeing David Cole’s name attached got me a little excited too. I’m glad that this isn’t a House mix either, It’s a sophisticated pop gem!! I’ll have to check my archives of your posts to hear the other song you shared with us. It’s challenging for me to remember everything on Burning The Ground. Paul, you’ve really lavished on us great songs from the 1980’s. Thank you, like always!!!
Jeff
You’re welcome, Jeff. This one has become one of my favorites.
Wow! So happy to see this great obscure 80s post! I do have the german 12″ which contains only 3 mixes. I discovered John Adams as a solo artist back in the 80s with his first single “Through the eyes of love”. A song that still belongs to my very favourites ever and you already posted it 7 years ago. I just love John Adams’ voice. Much underrated in my eyes. Thank you so much Paul! You made my day 🙂
You’re so welcome, Daniel. I love seeing you here too 🙂
Thank you Paul for this cool release.
You’re welcome, Dino 🙂
Wow don’t know this guy but the production credits are enough to make this super cool! Thanks again for another obscure 80’s gem!
You’re welcome, ING 🙂
Amazing song, which was a hit in the Dutch Soul Show in the 80s by Ferry Maat who played it often. I remember it well. This 12 inch also appeared on various artists cds. Never realized this is the Private Lives’ singer though who also did Living In A Word (Upside Down). Thanks!
You’re welcome, Martijn 🙂
