Burning The Ground Exclusive 1992
“I’m the One You Need” is a 1992 song by American singer Jody Watley, released as the third single from her third album, Affairs of the Heart.
Produced by house music pioneer, David Morales, “I’m the One You Need” constitutes Watley’s initial foray into house music (though its “Affairs of the Heart” predecessor, “I Want You”, boasted a house version). “I’m the One You Need” was Watley’s seventh Top 20 pop single in the US, and sixth Top five dance single, charting at #19 on the Billboard Hot 100, and #3 on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play charts, respectively.

I would love to find the Jody Watley I’m The One You Need (Single Edit), also by David Morales.
Only few promo copy are available and I think it is probably the best version of the song!
Thank you! I love Jody, didn’t have this.

I like these David Morales mixes from this 12” and the single is one of the better tracks from the album.
I liked the mixes Morales did for Sheena Easton, which i think you posted on here a while ago called 101.
Thanks Paul 🙂
You’re welcome, Marco 🙂
Nice one! I always love a good Jody Watley remix, and for some reason I don’t own this 12″ despite owning many others by her. Thanks for transferring this one!
You’re welcome, David 🙂
Thanks for posting this. I was originally torn with this album, it felt like a big departure from her previous two albums. But after listening to this song, I went back to the album and it was better than I remember. Thanks for posting this, it is good to hear the song again!
I love the album I think it is ver overlooked. This track was my favorite single taken from it 🙂
Thanks, fantastic as always!
Maybe there’s a chance to get a decent rip of “Precious Love”?
This would complete at least the 80s’ part of Jody’s career.
I think I have transferred it before but I am sure it is do for a new one 🙂
Thanks Paul for another Jody Watley single. Although David Morales isn’t one of my favorite producers, it’s a “Jody Watley” record and anything she’s involved in gives me the chance to rejoice.
Great week Paul and it was cool hearing songs from the early nineties!! Have a great weekend!!!
Jeff
Thank you, Jeff 🙂
Overrated.
Bit rude. Thanks for sharing, Paul. Whether this upload is your cup of tea or not, it’s good of you to take the time to rip and upload.
Ok, IMHO, better?
More like “in my not so humble opinion”!
But that’s just my humble opinion. 😎
