Nice to see this here Paul…but the 24bit links to this and Jody Watley are dead.
Would be nice to see Slave to the Rhythm posted again btw.
Underrated Artist.
IYHO? 😉
I remember these mixes. I have the CD single, but I’m intrigued to hear these vinyl rips.
Thanks Paul 🙂
The Garage House Mix on the CD single is shorter and has a much simpler beginning; can you confirm this? Also not sure about the Swing Mix …
From Discogs: The US 12″ of this single has “label/track list” issues. In terms of the B side; The RECORD hub label is correct. Grace’s Swing Mix is first, and then the C&C Garage House Mix is second. This is how they appear on the vinyl, and the Garage House Mix is actually the “Vacuum Paradise” version. The JACKET backside has an error. It lists the Garage Mix first, and the Swing Mix second. This is INCORRECT. FURTHER INFORMATION: The re-release of the BULLETPROOF HEART CD validates my previous note, as it has the SWING MIX as a bonus track,… Read more »
Wow, a very big THANK YOU for this useful information!
I have also seen those mixes being called the US Version (07:45) and the UK Version (07:10) of the C&C Garage House Mix, but one would have to check out all the releases.
My CD single has the single version, then the Garage & Swing one after the other, so I just listen to them as one long remix song. Funky Dred Dub has gone missing, but I remember liking the Dub mix over the Club mix. Thanx Paul.
I think B2 is not ‘The Cole & Clivilles Garage House Mix’ but ‘Swing Mix’ – which isn’t the same as ‘Grace’s Swing Mix’ though.
Great song from an awful album. Amado Mio & it’s remixes are great as well as Crack Attack.
Out all day and getting home late, I saw this now and I’m elated!! Thank you Paul for this slammin’ Grace Jones track!! C+C did a tremendous job on the mixes and I’m delighted to see Riger Pauletta with his razor blade providing the edits. This is incredibly cool of you Paul. I swoon each time you do a Grace Jones record. I am in ecstasy!!! Jeff Bonus Beats: Today on our travels, we got to listen to the “Dance Mix” album in the car. Man, that was so good hearing the LP after so many years. The rip was… Read more »
