Hello!

I’m so glad to have found your site and I deeply appreciate you sharing this masterpieces. For some reason none of your 12″ tracks are being download. For example in this one only 298bits were download while the rest of the versions are fine. Is this only happening to me? How can I fix it?

What can I say? You know I love Icehouse. You know I love “No Promises”. It is in fact my favourite single of this band which was very succesful and popular over here, leading to their famous German version od “Uniform” 🙂 So, all in all what can I say about this post? It is AAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWEEEEEESOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMEEEEEEEE 🙂 Back then I sort of had to get used to the Steve Thompson remix although I usually like his remixes (e.g. Aha´s “The Sun Always Shines On TV”). I prefered the standard 12inch back then but got to love Steve´s dance mix. I… Read more »

It’s another Icehouse post and I found even the first surprising. I hadn’t realized how much Australian talent had broken into the US and other worldly barriers. I am aware of this mix because a few years back I purchased the “12 inch version and remixes” compilation volume 1 on CD. So it’s interesting to compare the two. Knowing that unlike other rips around, with regard to quality, it will be like for like. Thanks for posting. Nice one. 🙂

Thanks Paul. Such a great song. By far my favorite Ice House song ever. I remember hearing it on the radio back in the 80’s and didn’t think much of it frowhat I remember. But it wasn’t until a year ago I went and re-discovered this track (and various remixes) and now I’m in Love. I am still trying to get in to their other stuff. So far this is the song that seems to be sticking… to be continued….

“The single reached #30 on the Australian singles chart”

As an Australian i am deeply embarrassed for the support Icehouse received in our country at the time… i think they were bigger in Germany. Perhaps there was just far too much good music being made at the time…

Icehouse is a National Treasure ! They need more recognition IMHO

Nice one Paul… one by one we are on the way to having “12 Inch Versions & Remixes” in 24bit

Next up ! Requesting the 12″ of Electric Blue 😉

One of my favourite 80s songs. I remember buying the 12″ single “Mr. Big” back in 1986. I bought it only for the B-side because it contained this magnificent Club Mix of “No Prommises”. This same mix was also released on CD on their compilation “Great Southern Land” in 1989 (listed as Dance Mix). Thank you Paul for sharing with us this wonderful single.

Thanks DJPaul!
One of the best song of the 80s.

Great remix by S.Thompson & M.Barbiero
(without an original cover – such a shame for Chrysalis)
Regards and Respect, Paul.

I love when you post something by Icehouse Paul!! I first fell in love with them when I heard the song, “Trojan Blue” off the “Primitive Man” LP. A radio station from Pittsburgh, PA really pushed this song on their playlist. Too bad that this wasn’t released as a 12 single because it is such a favorite of mine. Well, I love this song too. And to have a Steve Thompson & Michael Barbiero remix is the cherry on the sundae!! I love how you have so many of their mixes on your site. You are amazing Paul!! Many thanks!!… Read more »

Hi Jeff,
Just wanted to tell you that my ever favourite Icehouse song is “Trojan Blue”. This is such an amazing ballad. It could have made a great single.

Daniel, I got your response to my comment this morning and it really made my day. I’m so happy that you love “Trojan Blue” like I do. Every time Paul posts an Icehouse single, my mind immediately goes to this ballad. I’m so glad to meet like minded people like yourself here on Paul’s monumental Burning The Ground. Paul just touches lives with what he does and brings so many people who shine with much light and love. And we all need that today, more than ever. Paul is such a positive and special person who really helps us through… Read more »

Jeff,
I agree with you in every point. You always find the right words to express how you feel deep inside. This is something quite difficult for me. Maybe also because English is not my first language. What Paul does on this site is so precious and unique. He fills our hearts with so much joy each and every day. But I also have to say that your comments and reviews are precious and unique too and I’m happy to read them.

Have a great weekend Jeff!
