Awesome track – many thanks Paul!
You’re welcome Nubben 🙂
Thanks Paul!
Great production by Michael Cretu.
☺
You’re welcome BE.D12” 🙂
Thanks Paul. I always loved the songs of Hubert Kah. This is one of his best songs. He was very successful in Germany, especially in the early eighties during the period of the popular “Neue Deutsche Welle”.
Hi DjPaulT. I don’t really know this track that well although I have heard it before (along with “The Picture”) but can’t really recall either of them. The only track I know well (and love) from Hubert Kah is “Machine Gun”. I still have that 12″ and back then played it all the time. Thanks for sharing and expanding my musical horizons 🙂
You’re very welcome Time Operator 🙂
You’re very welcome Daniel 🙂
How I love it when you choose records that really resonate with me (and so many others too). Reading Goodguy’s detailed post, got me very excited as well. I love the stories/trivia readers bring to the comments section following your postings. This is what makes Burning The Ground incredibly special to me. It enhances the music so much more. This band reminds me so much of Razormaid!, the remix service. The company was very much my “Burning The Ground” info-center back in the 80’s and 90’s and a little bit of the Aughts too. It was here I first heard… Read more »
So excited that you are familiar with this band Jeff they bring to mind Razormaid. I really love it when my readers get excited about a record that I post 🙂
You are just the ULTIMATE Paul!!! Thank you for always being there with the best records around. You really do spoil us so. But, and I know you this, it is all very much appreciated.
Beyond Grateful,
Jeff
Thanks Paul. I don’t remember these guys that well except for this single as well as The Picture.
I’ll envy you hearing So Many People for the first time then. It’s one of the best synthpop tracks in the genre. 🙂
Enjoy Omar! 🙂
Oh wow. One of the BEST German Synthpoppers of the 80’s! Too many think of Alphaville as “the” post-Kraftwerk German synthpop band then, but Hubert KaH, Camouflage, Cetu Javu, Celebrate The Nun, Deine Lakainen, Peter Schilling, Peter Godwin, and more really deserve a lot of the credit for carrying on the synth tradition while the UK got all the attention with their bands. “So Many People” is their biggest hit of course, but they really came to the fore with “Goldene Zeiten”, and with “The Picture” in the US for the Jim Carrey Once Bitten soundtrack. They eventually went back… Read more »
You’re welcome Goodguy I agree with you they were very overlooked they were part of what I believe was the German wave. Pretty sure I have “Machine Gun” and a couple of others 🙂
