Awesome post! I’ve loved this song ever since it was released back in 1986 and always wished it had been a bigger hit. Not many pop/rock songs can claim to be inspired by the Crimean War, yet somehow they make it work. Great video too – check it out if you haven’t seen it. Thanks for posting. 🙂
A Canadian double (with Corey Hart yesterday). Love this track from a great debut album.
Thanks Paul.
Great share Paul. Glass Tiger is always welcome! ‘Someday’ is also a killer track.
Thanks a lot Paul. I love Glass Tiger and “The thin red line” is my favourite album by them. The remixes of the title song are really awesome and it’s fine to get them in your usual crystal clean sound quality. Thanks also for yesterday’s great post of Corey Hart. Seems that this week is going to be very special…
You’re welcome, Daniel. I hope that this week is something special 🙂
YEEEESSSS, I´ve waited for a long time for this 12inch in DJ Paulian quality 🙂 Thank you thank you thank you, Paul. My 12inch record is totally worn as Thin Red Line is on the short list of my very very favourite songs from the eighties. I found “Don´t Forget Me When I´m Gone” an ok song, the much less successful Someday ten times better, and then along came Thin Red Line. Gosh, I love it. Love the song, love the remix versions. This will be some tough days for Myriam as I will listen to your rips from dusk… Read more »
I love this song to Song And Dance everything about it is perfect great lyrics “Red is for the heroes green is for the brave”. 🙂
Gosh, I just love your choices Paul!! No body can pick the surprises better than you. I’ve been thinking of Glass Tiger for the past two days and then, here you go, you present a new 12-inch. I love you Paul and your work. On so many levels you have inspired me, cheered me up on countless occasions and have educated me on lost 80’s classics and the obscure. You’re a godsend, a kindred spirit and a wonderful friend who I feel very blessed to have. You’re perfect!!
Jeff
Can you say Edits! I know you will love these mixes, Jeff. I hope all is well in your area and you or family are not in the path of Florence. Take care 🙂
Hi and thanks, Paul! I remember this song and it is very reminiscent of In A Big Country with those guitar riffs/licks and style of vocals.
I bet if this song had produced differently, it could have been a bigger hit.
Thanks for the flashback!
I love the production of this track sad it was not released in the USA it could have been another hit for the band.
I only had the album version until now, curious how this 12 inch will be.
Thanks a lot!
You’re welcome Martijn 🙂
