Faith No More – We Care A Lot (US 12″ Promo)

BURNING THE GROUND EXCLUSIVE 1987

“We Care A Lot” is a song by American rock band from San Francisco, California Faith No More.

The lyrics of this song are a sarcastic parody of “the popstar posing that accompanied those [Live Aid style] charitable events” and mentions a range of things about which the band sarcastically claims ‘we care a lot’, such as the LAPD, the “food that Live Aid bought”, the Garbage Pail Kids and even The Transformers. The original version, released in 1985, mentions Madonna and Mr. T. This was altered for social relevance in the 1987 re-release.

The song peaked at #53 on the U.K. singles chart in 1988.

I ripped this from vinyl nearly 20 years ago, but I know that your version will sound (to use a phrase from my kids) eleventy billion times better. Thank you, sir.

They didn’t seem to “care a lot” about the single’s cover! 😛 A powerful abstract cover or one painted by a toddler?

Didn’t know that they released a 12″ of this song, what a pleasant surprise. Great sleeve art too.

Paul, your vaults run really deep, that’s for sure. I had no idea there was a 12-inch to this song by Faith No More. I get all excited when these types of records appear on your site because they are really different and all. Thanks so very much for this. Looking forward to playing this one!
