Gloria Estefan And Miami Sound Machine – Rhythm Is Gonna Get You (US 12″)

Burning The Ground Exclusive 1987

“Rhythm Is Gonna Get You” is a song written by Enrique “Kiki” Garcia and Gloria Estefan, and released by Gloria Estefan and Miami Sound Machine in 1987 as the lead single from the album Let It Loose (and the European version of the album Anything for You).

It was their fourth top 10 (and second top-five) single on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number five. In the UK, it took a year and a half for the single to become a chart hit.

First released in June 1987 as the first single from Let It Loose, the song failed to chart; a reissue came in February 1988 after the song featured in Stakeout, once again the song failed to chart. However, after the success of the follow-up singles “Anything for You” and “1-2-3”, the song was re-released in December 1988 just before Christmas and became a UK top 20 hit, peaking at number 16 in January 1989. The song was also featured in promos for Wheel of Fortune, with lyrics changed to “Wheel’s Gonna Get You”.

Miami Sound Machine – I Need A Man (US 12″)

BURNING THE GROUND EXCLUSIVE 1984

“I Need a Man” was the third single released by the American band Miami Sound Machine on their first English language album, and eighth studio album overall, Eyes of Innocence. The song was written by the band’s drummer and lead songwriter Enrique Garcia.

This song was released in the United States at the same time that “Prisoner of Love” was released in Europe, which was an exclusive single for the European countries. “I Need a Man” was released as a single in the United States, making it their second single from the album stateside, but third overall.

The single was released as a follow up to the dance club hit, “Dr. Beat”; however, it did not appear on any Billboard chart.
