I had this one back then, very bad soundquality indeed. Even for a teenager’s ears. And for 12 minutes, a bit more melodic tension would have been welcome…

Hello Paul.
Thank you so much!

Is there any chance to post Sydney Youngblood – If Only I Could (Patcha Garden Remix)?

Kind Regards,
James

Oh Paul, this is wonderful!
I love Viola’s disco covers, besides Gonna Get Along Without You Now, I thought her cover of Both Sides Now and Always Something There To Remind Me are fun too.
And of course, this remake. Takes me back to the early 80s!
Given its rarity, I trust you did the best rip you can. And that’s all we fans can ask for.
So thank you once again for the effort and passion you poured into BTG.
Happy Disco Friday!

Great Disconet remix. Superb version, but the long version is great too! It was a huge hit for Viola Wills in the Netherlands in 1980. Difficult to get this rip right, I guess. I have this 12 inch and always found the sound quality of the last minutes deteriorating very fast, due to the very high dynamics of the pressing in combination with (1) 45 rpm and (2) the massive length of the track (side A). So I’m curious to hear your work on this Paul. Couldn’t have been an easy job. BBR will be releasing the original album in… Read more »

This A-side has the smallest lead-out groove I’ve ever seen on a 12 inch. That explains a lot!
It should have been a 33 rpm release instead, I think. That would have given a better sound quality towards the end.
Nevertheless: a great Disco Friday post! Surely you did the best rip ever on this difficult pressing.

Have a nice weekend.
