“Move Over Darling” was a song originally recorded in 1963 by American actress, singer Doris Day for the film of the same name.
In 1983 Tracey Ullman coverd the song for her debut album You Broke My Heart In 17 Places. “Mover Over Darling” was the third single taken from the album. The song debuted on the British singles chart on December 3, 1983 spending nine weeks on the chart peaking at #8.

Trivia mostly: The Doris Day movie, Move Over Darling, was a salvage of Marilyn Monroe’s unfinished film from 1962. Imagine Doris Day replacing Monroe! I love Doris as much as MM. Move Over Darling is one my favorite Doris songs, and Tracey’s version is a nice update but almost a copy of the original.
I love these artist spotlights Paul. Such care you take to bring them to us. I love this song, like all of Tracey’s output. Very cool indeed!

Paul the 1st track of this 12″ is supposed to be the extended version, which is included on a best of compilation. The fact is that the 2 versions are different from the original one that appears on 1983 album

Awesome. Another artist receiving one of your artist series. They should be very grateful as of course these tracks have never sounded better!! Look forward to tomorrow! I noticed i have a 1992 version on Rhino of ‘You broke my heart in 17 places’ on my hard drive which has bonus tracks but none of which are any ‘Extended versions’.
