Paul, Thank you so much for your meticulous rips. Jellybean always did awesome mixes, and we often forget that he also released some fantastic recordings. Sidewalk Talk which you already posted, and The Mexican which I hope you will one day also rip. I used to buy a lot of 12″ vinyl in the late seventies and eighties, and most of the remixes never made it to cd. Haven’t been able to do my own rips as I don’t have a turntable anymore, and with you doing these meticulous rips of most that I have, I can just sit back… Read more »

After a couple of years of not being able to convert FLAC files on my computer for iTunes/Apple Music, I have resolved my problem, and am happy to be listening to your uploads which I have been saving all this time. I love this Jellybean Romantics remix. Thank you as always for you hard and generous work. I have bought many CD’s as a result of what I have learned here. Take care and Happy New Year!

I used to use XLD, which was not compatible with my newer Mac. I am using MediaHuman Audio Converter to convert FLAC to ALAC (Apple Lossless). I can’t wait to listen to your files that I have been saving since February 2022. 🙂

I always loved this song and video!! My first exposure to it was the colorful video on MTV, with the jukebox in the diner. These guys were so cool! This single is a lost gem coming after their big No. 3 hit prior. Looking forward to this Dance Mix from your amazing transfer. Thank you and have a great weekend! You too Jeff, Martika, Fred and all the other romantics here!

I hope you also have a nice weekend! I know what I’ll be doing this weekend. That video made me want to watch all the classic 80s movies like Breakfast Club, etc.

Thank you SO much for this classic pop gem! I think the 45 mix is an edit of this Jellybean remix, but I’m happy to be corrected about that. The 45 mix was used for the music video and is far superior to the album version IMO.

I’ve always loved this song… and I’ve got the 12″ of “Talking In Your Sleep” but never even knew there was a remix for this one – and a Jellybean mix at that? It’s a fantastic Friday for sure!

Paul, one of the things I love about your site is that you make me remember songs I have forgotten about. This is one of them! The Romantics and the album this was from were huge at the fraternity houses of my college years. At parties, the album would be played in its entirety. Every song was a winner. NOW! I have to order this album on CD!! Thanks so much for the Jellybean remix!! I love the “Bean Man” and many of his remixes. I think he should be next up for “Arthur Baker Presents: Dance Masters” series. He… Read more »

I agree with you, Jeff. It would be shameful if he wasn’t next in line for “Arthur Baker Presents: Dance Masters” series, even though it would be hard to narrow his set down to just 4 CDs.If record labels were smart, they would release a 10xCD box set with his remixes.

What you said, Martika, is so true. I would love a MASSIVE box set of his remixes. Jellybean was/is a superstar!! His remixes always respected the integrity of the original song too. Today – and unfortunately – we get a Capellas over a beat that sometimes doesn’t gel with the original song at all. Gosh, I miss the old sound of remixes.

You are so amazing, Martika. Having you here with us is such a godsend!!

Ha Ha, soooo true. Remixes are sooo lazy now! The worst offenders now are streaming services who, instead of remixes, offer singles with a “slowed + reverb” and/or “sped up version” …

Ha Ha, I think the band is single-handedly responsible for the death of one cow with all that leather!!! That video is so amazingly 80s it hurts! Thank you for adding another rare JELLYBEAN remix to our collection! Great pick as usual!
