Excelente Paul gracias, un par de sugerencias Promise Circle: easy to touch and Coro: my fallen Ángel.
Thanks Paul. Love this follow up to Show Me.
Although it always puzzled me why there is this weird stereo fluctuation thing going on throughout the Remix version of this song. First instance is at about 0:58. It’s an odd in and out thing that goes on intermittently. And it happens in every variation of the 12″ Remix version. I have it on CD single, the Unidisc album with the Remix, 4tk 12″ and the promo 12″ …all the same. However, it is not present on 7″ Remix from the Japanese mini CDS. Curious if anyone else notices this?
Yes. Quite a few remixes from the 80s had terrible stereo imaging due to the way they sampled and/or edited the mixes. It was likely due to the experience of the remixer, the equipment they had access to, and the individual tracks of the song.
There are a lot of songs that you don’t notice it until you put on headphones. A lot of Shep Pettibone’s early work had these problems, even though he was extremely talented. Check out his mixes of Something About You and Lessons In Love by Level 42 for examples.
I just assumed it was the intent of the remixer maybe they were trying something new.
Freestyle isn’t my favourite genre but this song is catchy and I like the enthusiasm of Jeff and Fred. Their ballad “We can’t go wrong” is my favourite by them.
Freestyle is growing on me a little more each time I listen to a track. They did put a lot of effort into the remixing/editing.
I’m so excited to hear you say this Paul. Your opinion of music is very important to me and I am so pleased that you are appreciating a genre that means the world to me. As you know, from my love of disco and New Wave, when Electro hit me, there was no holding back. When the Latin element started fusing in, that was Heaven to me. That’s why I love my John Robie so much. His “One More Shot” record really inspired others, like Ligget and Barbosa with their fierce productions. I just also love the dedication and effort… Read more »
You are pulling a 100 with me Paul!! NOW, this is quality Freestyle!! People may debate with me, but certain records TOWER over others. Man, this is a who’s who list of tremendously talented individuals that participated in this record. My beloved Latin Rascals for one, but there is also Chep Nunez (R.I.P.), “Little” Louie Vega, David Cole, Robert Clivilles and the list goes on. You’re posting records that are so near and dear to my heart. This record is exceptional. So many DJ’s would use these beats and samples in many of their sets and productions. I loved this… Read more »
I hit submit on my phone before mentioning clivillles and cole! They worked so well together and on so many projects that they could have started a music factory!
