Good Morning Paul, I was up most of the night because of this record. Even after playing it, I couldn’t get it out of my head. The Diamond Dub Version is a masterpiece of block rocking beats to the extreme. O-O-O-OH-OH-OH MAR SANTANA and CHARLIE DEE must have worked themselves into a frothy frenzy with this one!! To this day, I don’t think nothing comes this close to bordering on insanity with the multi-edits. And coupled with the drum machine programming makes me shiver each and every time. This is a work of mix-master madness. The sounds of machine gun… Read more »

Excellent Paul. Love the awesome edits and production of Omar Santana and Chep Nunez, especially on the dub mix here. This along with Take It While It’s Hot and (Goodbye) Victim of Love are three ultimate showcases for the machine gun type editing craze that swept the freestyle world in 1986. Love it. Thanks!

Actually I see now it was Charlie Diez that was involved with the editing here not Chep. I think maybe he worked on one of the others I mentioned. Regardless, those guys along with the Latin Rascals and Andy Tripoli were all instrumental in mainstreaming those very labor intensive editing techniques that became so popular.

Holy Smokes!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! This song was such the bomb back in the 80s and never get tired of it! Great mixes, too!!! The dubs that Sweet Sensation released were so amazing and still, in my opinion, crush dubs of the past few decades.

I CANNOT thank you enough!!!

PAUL!!!! You almost embarrassed me by posting this record because I let out this orgasmic moan that everybody heard in the general vicinity!! I AM IN AWE OF YOU!!! This was my first introduction to Omar Santana and I’ll never forget it. There once was a magazine called Dance Music Report that had charts and reviews and interviews. It came out every two weeks and it was the way I discovered lots of dance music based on the reviews. The review for this record stated that for all of those interested in the latest beat techniques should check out the… Read more »
