“Wheels Over Indian Trails” is a song by Factory Records artist from New York City Stanton Miranda. She achieved some notice for her single “Wheels Over Indian Trails” The song features guitar and backing vocals by Gillian Gilbert, drums keybaord programming by Stephen Morris both of New Order. The remix by John Robie pushed the single onto dance floors but failed to chart. Stanton Miranda was also a member of the band Thick Pigeon.
She had a brief acting career, appearing in the Jonathan Demme films, Something Wild, Married to the Mob and Silence of the Lambs.

What a surprising take on this one. Could I hand one too? Ann Clarke for the ones who like poetry or Siouxie+Banshees for max weirdness and great drums.
Paul, again, you have my utmost gratitude for ripping this fantastic 12-inch. It is so amazing to have this and in such outstanding quality!! I tried to get this on CD, which I did. It was on a very cool compilation called: “Trevor Jackson Presents Metaldance – Industrial Post Punk EBM Classics & Rarities ’80-88.” The comp contained the dub version, which I adore, but I did lament that the vocal mix wasn’t included. You’re welcome Jeff I do remember this being played at an after hours club in Oklahoma City around 1987 called The Wreck Room it was a club where club kids that couldn’t get into regular bars could go dance. It opened at 2am and stayed open until dawn they always played the coolest underground and hot dance music. Great memories.
We had those kind of clubs as well. Best ambiance, people and music. Nowadays it is hard searching via via for that kind 😉 (And I do not mean facebookgroups – au contraire)
But great fun to let go back in those days without phone camera’s anywhere near. So glad to have enjoyed that..

I believe she was involved with the Durutti Column co-writing and vocals on “Paradise Passage Road” (“Dry” album 2000).
Also using differing names including “Thick Pigeon”!
