Thanks for this, DJPaul!
Joining in on the thanks for this one. Sparks has been one of my favorite bands since “Angst in My Pants” came out. I have the US 12″ of this but I’ve never heard of these versions.
Sparks is touring right now so if any of your readers are interested they should definitely check them out.
Thanks for this one. At one point in history, I couldn’t pass a night at the disco without this one being played.
Paul do you have the other 12″ with the ‘Mini-Version’ on the B?
Thanks Paul. 🙂 I only had the short version in my collection.
You’re welcome Kent 🙂
Gotta admit Sparks was not on my radar at all. Thats why i love coming here ! A whole new discography to listen to !
And i just found a 5.6mhz DSD rip of “Propaganda” on rutracker. Oh Yeah !
Thanks Paul !
You’re welcome Kaex 🙂
I love Sparks! I really started discovering their music about 7 years ago. What an amazing back catalog. Thank you for this post, Paul. I don’t think that either of these mixes have been issued on CD. Have you heard their latest album, “Hippopotamus”? I love it!
Pretty sure I have a U.S. 12″ of this somewhere with a different mix I will have to look for it. No I have not heard their latest album guess I need to check it out 🙂
Yes, the U.S. 12″ has a different mix. Their latest album got a lot of great reviews and gave them their first U.K. Top Ten album since the ’70s. Here’s one of my favorites from the album: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ot6BejeeaGg
Thanks Paul.
You’re welcome Omar 🙂
Love this one by Sparks. Thanks Paul.
You’re welcome Memoryboy 🙂
That’s a lovely tune Paul and the remix is fine. I also loved the cool remix of “Radioactive” which I discovered last weekend. Thanks a lot.
You’re welcome Daniel 🙂
I’m giggling madly with excitement over this one Paul!! I love Sparks!! From their disco classic, “Beat The Clock” to the New Wave stylings of “Cool Places” and now to this brilliantly catchy dance tune from the 80’s. Thank you so much Paul for pulling out the surprises with this twelve inch. You really make my day every day!!!
Jeff
You’re welcome, Jeff 🙂
I love Sparks at their synthiest.
Thanks Paul!
You’re welcome Goodguy 🙂
Cool to see another Sparks post. Can’t wait to hear this one.
Cheers Paul 🙂
I really hope you like it Mark 🙂
I love this remix and the Fingertips track on the b-side is so catchy 🙂
Love this tune!
Glad to hear that Kevin 🙂
