BURNING THE GROUND EXCLUSIVE 1987
“Cocaine Sex” was the second single released by the electronic music group. Formed in London in 1986, Renegade Soundwave. The single was released on Mute Records subsidiary Rhythm King in 1987.
Renegade Soundwave applied the punk and industrial ethic to both dub and dancefloor electronica, in good company with fellow sound terrorists throughout the decade, from Cabaret Voltaire to Skinny Puppy and Meat Beat Manifesto.
The group consisted of Gary Asquith, Danny Briottet, and Carl Bonnie.
As a further note: The versions of “Cocaine Sex (Sub-Aqua Overdrive Dub)” and “Bonus Porno Beats” on the subsequent 1992 CD single re-release, are noticeably sped-up and, consequently, shorter than they appear here.
SIDE A:
Cocaine Sex 5:32
Cocaine Sex (Sub-Aqua Overdrive Dub) 4:43
SIDE B:

Born from the ashes of Rema-Rema & Mass. The other half of those bands became The Wolfgang Press. Talented group of guys.
Still listening to that Mummy Calls 12″ on the regular!
Rhythm masters! Love everything about this group! Thanks as always sir
You’re welcome Mothloop. Good to see you 🙂
Awesome post! Bought all their CDs but missed out on a lot of their singles and remixes as not a lot of that stuff seemed to make it into my local record stores unfortunately. Should be very cool to hear this. Thank you.
You’re welcome Kimberly 🙂
This is a cool flashback indeed for me. Glad you posted it.
Cheers Paul 🙂
Thank you Mark 🙂
Here you go again making my(wet)dreams come true Paul!! This is a great example of “aural sex” in everyway! I’ll always remember first hearing this cut on the dance floor and nearly climaxing over the sound of it. I am a lover of hard and sexy beats fused to an industrial rhythm track. This was a HEAD trip and a body blushing treat to my carnal senses. I can’t wait to relive this song over again courtesy of you Paul. You really make our temperatures rise amongst other things!!
Yes, tumescence is guaranteed!!!
Jeff
I get the feeling you are excited about this one Jeff lol 🙂

You’re welcome Thomas 🙂
