Thank you, Paul, as always!
What stands out for me are the remixers Boris & Cris, both familiar to anyone that spent late nights listening to KROQ. Their mega mixes of Depeche Mode & especially the Pet Shop Boys in the 80’s were superior to anything Razormaid or any other remix service put together.
I don’t know why this didn’t chart, I’ve always loved this song!
It is a great one for sure 🙂
What a great song! Many thanks Paul for share this amazing song.
You’re welcome, Ed 🙂
5 STARS!!! Great share, Paul – just like all your other rips! THANK YOU!!! It was written by Holly Knight, Michael Des Barres, Mike Chapman, so how can you go wrong!?! I love everything Holly Knight ever put her fingers on, from ANIMOTION to Device and Spider! I’m actually surprised that this sing did not chart. It sounds a lot like their fellow countrymen MIDNIGHT OIL, who were hot at that time! On a side note, with 5 million 80s compilations featuring the same 100 songs over and over again, your TOTALLY OBSCURE 80s series is highly appreciated!!! Keep up the fantastic… Read more »
Thank you so much, Martika it makes me really happy that you enjoy the series 🙂
I have a special folder with your “obscure 80s” and rare remixes. It’s my preferred 80s compilation now …. lol
Martika,
I’m so glad you pointed this out about Paul’s TOTALLY OBSCURE 80s series. He saves the lost tracks for all of us to hear what we may have missed!!
Have a great weekend!!
Jeff
Wow, new to my ears! But as good as I would expect from that wicked songwriting team. Thanks Paul!!
You’re welcome, Retro Hound 🙂
Thanks Paul!
I hope you’ll consider adding more Real Life, and especially God Tonight. That track was from later in their career, and their highest BPM single. It’s a very different sound than Send Me An Angel, or other tracks like Babies. I doubt most know it’s from the same band!
I also adore “God Tonight.”
Jeff
You’re welcome I will see what I can do 🙂
Thanks a lot Paul! Obscure 80s is still my favourite series and that’s a great one. Your rip is awesome like always 🙂
You’re welcome, Daniel 🙂
Thanks! Didn’t have this, I only know them for Catch Me I’m Falling and Send Me An Angel.
You’re welcome, Martijn 🙂
You need to hear God Tonight, Martijn! 🙂
Will do, thx for the tip
My heart skipped a beat!!! Man Paul, this was one of my favorite songs by Real Life! Back in college, I tried to get others into it by playing it on our college radio station!! It’s a shame that it didn’t make a dent on the pop charts!! Wow!! This is a miracle seeing it here on Burning The Ground!! I am in ecstacy!! Thank you, Paul!!
Jeff
You’re welcome, Jeff such a shame it did not go anywhere, especially with its powerhouse writing team. Def an ear worm too 🙂
Fascinating! Of course, most of us know this band because of their classic Send Me An Angel, but they actually had a lot of great songs. I didn’t know they did tracks with outside songwriters so that’s crazy…. They had a cool album that a route around 1989-1990 as well but I’d have to look it up I’m get old! Thanks for this!
You’re very welcome, ING 🙂
Lifetime was the album. God Tonight and Kiss The Ground were the singles.
Yes!
