Sound perfect!

In the tags and in your post here, I think you accidentally copied the catalog number & label info from the German 12″ instead of the UK 12″.

Already the starting sounds give me the shivers in expectation what is to come…
A monumental trip thru amazing soundscapes! The incredible main synth riff even topped when played by the guitar. Just Whoah! That Trevor horn dude is a sick mf for sure!

If you don’t have enough, there’s the 19 min version, Complete Machinery!!!
According to Discogs p: Machinery (Passive) 3:45 is unique to this 12″, just check-out,
list of versions of p:Machinery and where to find them: lol.

I still remember the first time I heard this, in a shabby record store in Oslo. Blew me away! I had a pretty complete collection of their albums and 12″ singles after that. This is probably my favorite track by Propaganda.

“Today comes true what common sense denies…”

Sad to say, I never got to see them live, but the music lives on.

Thanks, hombre. Propaganda is one of my favourite 80’s bands. Ever. Claudia Brücken has one of the best voices. Ever. You’re the best, Paul!

Bravo Paul! Propaganda is a collector’s heaven with so many 12 inch mixes available of some pretty epic songs. I love the drama of these sometimes completely over the top productions by Trevor Horn and his engineer Steve Lipson of the time from the ZTT stable. I guess you could trace the route of epic twelves from Owner Of A Lonely Heart through the Art Of Noises’ Beat Box, via the most well known of all Relax by FGTH and then the wonderfully eclectic Propaganda and Miss Jones’ Slave To The Rhythm! Paul you could probably devote a site to… Read more »

Thrilling way to end the week with this single Paul. It’s epic and cinematic in every way. And I adore Paul Morley’s notes on the sleeves of all ZTT releases. This is rapturous. Can’t wait to sink my ears into your rip Paul. I love how your readers are stimulated by this record and all this week. Just outstanding.

You have an incredible weekend Paul!!!

Thanks!

Jeff

Hey Paul, do you have the 12″ of “Divine Emotions” by Narada Michael Walden and/or the 12″ of “I Just Can’t Wait” by Mandy Smith?

Oh wait! I just checked out Mandy Smith on Discogs, and apparently there are two different 12″ versions of “I Just Can’t Wait”, the standard 12″, and a remix 12″ called “The Cool & Breezy Jazz Version”. It was the latter I was asking you about. It’s an OUTSTANDING remix! I didn’t know there were two versions. Sorry about that! I should have checked before asking.

Thank you Paul for this one, in spite of having numerous CD reissues of this group I don’t think I ever heard the passive mix which I think remains unreleased in digital.

This 12″single was played very often in the clubs here in France. I loved to dance to it. It’s still one of my very favourites. Thank you Paul. Have a great weekend.

(Almost) Anything and everything with ZTT written all over it is top notch in my eyes.
The prodcuction, the sound – breathtaking. Thank you Paul. I have every Propaganda 12inch, every cd and limited edition I ever laid my eyes (and hands) on but a DJ Paul rework makes my ears pop.
Very nice!

Have been enjoying a lot of Propaganda and ACT over recent months and p:machinery still stands up… although i have to admit Duel has to be a personal favourite – love the chorus on that one! And you’ve got to love those ZTT record sleeves – a coffee table book of collected ZTT sleeves would make a fantastic read!!

Thanks Paul! Was surprised that Claudia took up with Paul Humphreys of OMD in a romantic way. I kept wondering what other 80s artist’s had crossed paths under the sheets when I heard. 🙂

Hey, any chance of some Depeche Mode or Alison Moyet you haven’t gotten to yet? They are touring the US right now. It would eb great timing.
