“Nightime” is the fourth single released by American dance group based out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Pretty Poison. Group members are Jade Starling (lead vocalist); Whey Cooler (keyboardist and guitarist); and Kaya Pryor (percussionist).

“Nightime” was originally released in 1984 on Philly based label Svengali Records. “Nightime” peaked at #14 on the Billboard dance chart on August 18, 1984, after spending ten weeks on the survey. The song was later remixed and re-released in 1988 after the success of “Catch Me (I’m Falling)”.

This 12″ is also known as the Philly version.

Thanks, Paul. You’re killing it this week with Pretty Poison, Re-Flex and E.G. Daily. I didn’t know there was an earlier version of this song, but the 1988 version is definitely superior (IMHO). Still, this is a nice surprise and fun comparison.

Thanks so much for this Paul! I used to have this version; I think Svengali Records was their own label? Catch Me was a bit of an anomaly for the group.

Another winning track in my book Paul. Looking forward to hearing these mixes. I am familiar more with the Virgin release so this is a special surprise. I so love going back in time with you and the others to hear the tracks that ignited our compulsion to dance and party!!

Thanks for this Paul, yet another wonderful 80s track! Luckily some versions have appeared on cd, but not all official releases. These, the dance and dub mixes, are probably better remastered than the official cd-r and vinylrip I have!
