Great version! I was wondering if this was the same song that J. Geils did on “Bloodshot”,and was pleasantly surprised to find that not only was it the same song, but that it was taken in a much different direction than I am used to hearing. If anyone is considering getting this,go for it…you won’t be disappointed!
Thanks Paul for your incredible work!
Phil Fearon & Galaxy had a great success in 1984 with “What do I do”
but Cherry Pop 12″ Anthology was missing – The pina colada mix in dub (6.24)
and The part 2 (8.05) –
any chance to have them for the future?
I respect You.
I will see what I can do. Both mixes are on separate 12″ singles so I may choose one or the other 🙂
Well how spooky is this my friend… Was about to put in a request for this song and well blow me down, here it appears. Are you psychic or what? This is such a great feel good song and the production by Stock Aitken Waterman is sheer awesome. I have another brilliant mix of this that combines “Showing Out” by Mel & Kim. Think its called “The FunKim Mel Remix runs for 8 minutes and the two songs are mixed together so perfectly. Anyway massive thanks for this Paul and any chance of the PWL mix of Symptoms of True… Read more »
You just have great taste Roy 🙂 I ordered the Tracie Spencer PWL Remix 12″ this afternoon so I will post it as soon as I get it from Germany. I don’t even see Rick Levay listed on Discogs if you can point me to it I will see if I can locate a copy. Cheers!
OMG Paul…did you know that the Tracie Spencer PWL Remixes are nowhere to be found in digital format? Not even on those various artists CD compilation released in Europe. This will be great, not to mention a rare release! The FunKim Mel Remix which was mention by above poster was also a wonderful remix. Hopefully you can get that in the future. Thanks for this release. I, and i’m sure all PWL purists will be waiting for the Tracie Spencer PWL remix!
Sorry Paul, my misspelling. It’s Love my Way by Rik Le Vay. It’s a HiNRG cover of the brilliant Psychedelic Furs song. It appeared on a compilation album released over here in the UK during 1984. Seems it came from Stock Aitken Waterman. Maybe it was made purely for the album as I can’t seem to locate it anywhere else.
Sorry album was called “Chunks of Funk”
I can imagine all the S.A.W. enthusiasts out there getting really, really, REALLY PUMPED over this one Paul!! I think I know this one, but can’t really be sure, but it doesn’t matter. I love all the new (vintage) music you’re exposing us to. All I can do is shake my head in disbelief and say: WOW!!!!! I love taking this journey with you as our Disc Jockey extraordinaire introducing us to all sorts of things. Your vast encyclopedic knowledge of dance records and jams of the past is like a thrilling roller coaster ride with the best sound system… Read more »
I am just glad that it was something that we could fix I hate to think of not being able to continue. This is a really fun Chicago house track that really reminds me of Rick Astley. Hope ya like it 🙂
