BURNING THE GROUND EXCLUSIVE 1984
“Loveride“ is a 1984 single by the group Nuance, from the group’s album Sing, Dance, Rap, Romance. The vocals on the song were performed by Vikki Love.
The song peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart for one week and remained on the chart for sixteen weeks. The single did not crossover to the pop chart but did peak at number thirty-four on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
A sample of Vikki Love saying “Ooh…” in the song would later be used on the album version of Nu Shooz’ “I Can’t Wait”, the U.S. version and 12″ remix of M|A|R|R|S’s “Pump Up the Volume” and Lisette Melendez’s “Together Forever.”

Killer cut!!superb rip,thanks Paul!!
Thx Paul. This is one of my favorites. I love the orchestra hits and the voice of Vikki.
Thanks so much, Paul! I’ve been waiting for the Dub for eons! 🙂
This was mixed (in part) by Jay Burnett…who did a SLAMMING AWESOME job on the Tee Vee Toons “Jane, Get Me Off This Crazy Thing” song. It would be sooooo awesome if you could post that track sometime.

Wow Fred!!!
Thanks for bringing up this single!! I (secretly) hoped Paul would sneak this in on a Saturday in honor of Saturday Morning Cartoons as the tune incorporates a lot of past samples of shows some of us could recall. Also loved the version of “The Jetson’s” theme on the flip-side. Cool memories Fred and a great recommendation.
Have a nice day Fred!!

My sad story: It was released in 1986 and I heard it on the David Lawrence Show on KC101 in CT. He played it as one of his “Big Twelve Inch” segments on Saturday at about 10am. I went looking for the 12″ in all (like 3) my record stores and nobody heard of it nor could find it in their catalogs. 3+ years later I’m in college and out at a dj/music store far from home and I see the 12″ brand new, shrink wrapped for like $8. There were 2-3 copies. I didn’t have any cash and credit… Read more »
Fred, I’m so sorry to hear that. I was only aware of this twelve because of my love of vintage tv shows. I had “Television’s Greatest Hits” the first volume of the TeeVeeToons CD. I remember reading a review of the single in the magazine, “Dance Music Report” and was able to buy it at a local record store. I even reviewed the track for my College Newspaper. Friends and I really dug the record. Ivan Ivan was involved too and I am a big fan of his as well. This record was so cool at the time because of… Read more »

How i miss this kind of music. They don’t make this kind of quality anymore. Thanks Paul
SOME CHANCE TO Stop Playin’ On Me BY THE SAME Nuance Featuring Vikki Love ???
THANX IN ADVANCE !!
Sencillamente espectacular gracias pault.
How you spoil us Paul!! I am re-living my musical tastes formative years. I would buy any record that the Latin Rascals were involved in. I really love this record with that drum machine turned way up and the orchestra hits and Vikki Love’s orgasmic, ahs!! Whoa, and the “dubride” flip side was my favorite. Thanks for taking me back Paul with this track. You really thrill me because you include the flipsides and special mixes that are left off of compilations. We are so lucky to have you sharing these precious memories with us. AWESOME!!!
Jeff

Now that is a blast from the past. I remember playing this for the first time at an after hours club in Orlando.
