“Das Omen” (The Omen) was the first single released by German electronic dance music group Mysterious Art. The single saw its first release on May 13th, 1989. The song quickly reached the #1 position of the official German Media Control singles charts, where it remained for nine weeks straight. The song sold over 490,000 singles in Germany alone and has since remained the most successful published work under CBS Publishing GmbH.

KILLER SONG … and such a CLASSIC!!!

Even if it sounds dated to some ears now, at the time the sound was very progressive!

I love all their stuff!

I´ve never been a fan of that song but I love the hiphouse skamix from the flipside. And thank God it´s almost instrumental. 😉

Great to have your opinion Song And Dance. I really liked this band because they sung about subjects I find interesting. Joseph Watt from Razormaid! Productions was a huge fan of them and the mixes his company did were pretty interesting. I loved their “Requiem” and “Karma” with the opera samples. “Humunkulus” was a favorite as well. His voice isn’t that great, but I love the production of the songs. A band that I loved as well was E Nomine. They are like a horror film you could dance too. The Goosebumps are in full effect!! Wow Paul, I am thrilled that you posted “The Omen” by Mysterious Art. As you know, Halloween is an obsession of mine and I get all excited to find records that scream of the scary and wicked! I also have a keen interest with the occult and magick and the supernatural. This band fits those descriptions well. It’s such a perfect song for the black and orange season.
