I love anything that Midge touched. Thanks!
Thank you, Paul!
Very VERY cool. Thanks so much!
Another re-rip, yes! Great post.
Marvelous, this is a treat. Both Mick and Midge is ranked high in my list in their respective groups.
Thanks again Paul!
If you feel like you’re on a roll with Midge, and you have this, please consider posting “Call Of The Wild”. That’s my fave among his early solo 12″s. That Certain Smile and Wastelands are next in line to me, but still greats. The latter really builds up to that killer chorus too.
You’re welcome Goodguy I may post some of the others at a later date 🙂
Oops, sorry, I meant the 12″ sleeve is different from the 7″, obviously. Duh!
Thanks Paul.
This is a great track but I always preferred the 7″ mix plus the sleeve was thick cardboard and glossy with stunning photography by Linda McCartney. I still have the single (UK) in the attic somewhere. The 12″ sleeve looks really plain in comparison and it’s odd how different it is from the 12″.
Is there any chance you could upload the 7″ version please along with a 1440×1440 image of the cover art?
Lol, why spefically 1440 Darren? (just curious)
I didn’t know this existed till I found the original rip. Will deffo be grabbing the new version.
Ps: DJPaul, did you know Life In Tokyo by Japan was co-written and produced by Georgio Moroder? I didn’t till recently.
Hi Jermajesty yes I love “Life In Tokyo” and was aware it was a Moroder production 🙂
@ Jermajesty – Because that is the size Paul uploads the larger image artwork at (previously it was 1000×1000), no other reason!
Sorry Darren I don’t have the 7″.
Thank you Paul for giving me the chance to play catch-up on a lot of 12-inches I’ve missed over the years. This is so thrilling to have another Midge Ure single I am not familiar with. You are really a gift with your generosity.
Jeff
It was my pleasure Jeff I really enjoyed listening to this one again. Hard to believe it’s been four years since I originally posted this one 🙂
Dear Paul! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!. I used to have this very same 12″, but some how along the way lost it. So happy to be able to hear it again, in a new and restored version. All the best Bo Xamuel.
You’re welcome Bo I love this record too 🙂
Thanks Paul. Love this collaboration. Wish they’d done a whole album together. Sadly Mick’s no longer with us. What a talent he was!
I know Omar this single always left me wanting more 🙂
If this leaves you wanting more check out the Ultravox track ‘When The Time Comes’. It has great fretless bass on it that I’m semi convinced is Mick’s playing. If it isn’t him then he was definitely giving Chris Cross lessons, as I’ve never any of their other songs sounding like it!
