BURNING THE GROUND EXCLUSIVE 1984

Produced by Mike Hedges who also produced The Cure, U2 and The Associates “The Boy Who Came Back” debuted on the UK singles chart on June 2, 1984 peaking at #52.

Nice pick Paul. I really enjoyed this era of Marc Almond, full of atmosphere and mystique, it is surprising how much he releasd that has never seen a digital release, or have been vinyl sourced, the new box though comprehensive is far from complete regarding his more obscure material. Sadlly, I read a while ago that a lot of his 80’s era tape archives along with other some bizzare artists were destroyed in a flood.
That’s sad to hear. I will be posting more singles that do not appear anywhere else iin the future 🙂
Thank you SO MUCH for Marc Almond!
you’re welcome.
Looking forward to hearing this again. Thanks Paul 🙂
You’re welcome Junior 🙂
Love Marc Almond and not familiar with this song, so greatly looking forward to listening to this. Big thanks Paul and do hope you’re well on the road to recovery now mister. Sending you hugs and nothing but good vibes over to you fella… x
Thank you Roy I am doing much better 🙂
THANK YOU, Paul! (wink wink)
You’re welcome Christian 🙂
Thank you Paul. Do you also have any of Marc and The Mamba’s singles? I’m looking forward to this upcoming anthology .
I will have to check Omar I may have “Fun City” tucked away in a box.
Fun City is a Soft Cell b-side isn’t it? (A great one, too)
Really looking forward to this one Paul. Embarrassingly, although I know Soft Cell inside out my Marc solo knowledge is very sketchy. Luckily you are plugging all the gaps. 🙂
Good to see you back, BTW. How is your hand healing?
It is on the b-side for “Say Hello, Wave Goodbye”. I am feeling a lot better Jermajesty thanks for asking 🙂
It’s a Marc And The Mambas song officially (even though it also appeared as a Soft Cell B-Side. It’s from the Mamba’s fan club only Sleaze 12″

I don’t think my heart can take it Paul!! I can explode from all the excitement!! Mr. Almond is one of my absolute favorite singers of all time. He, to me, is the ultimate Diva (Divo?). Either way, this guy’s voice and theatricality move me to no end. What a find this is and such a gift too because, as you say, it’s not on his upcoming retrospective box set, “Trails of Eyeliner” which is what I have pre-ordered too. Man, why are you so generous? No, seriously, you are too kind Paul (THREE KIND, is more like it, one… Read more »
A beautiful swooning track by Mr. Almond both sides of this 12″ are great. You are so right Jeff Marc Almond is the ultimate diva. Enjoy! 🙂
What’s also great about this posting Paul, is that Mike Hedges is the producer on this one like he was on yesterday’s “Technology” by The Group. I like how BTG pays attention to producers and remixers in a big way.
