Burning The Ground Exclusive 1987
“Causing a Commotion” is a song by American singer Madonna from the soundtrack album to the 1987 film Who’s That Girl. It was released as the album’s second single on August 25, 1987, by Sire Records. Its Silver Screen Single Mix later appeared on the EP The Holiday Collection (1991). Written and produced by Madonna and Stephen Bray, the song was inspired by her relationship with then-husband Sean Penn, and his abusive and violent nature. Containing a dance-oriented, up-tempo groove, the song begins with the chorus and is accompanied by a four-note descending bassline and staccato chords in the verses.
Since its release, “Causing a Commotion” has received mixed to positive reviews from music critics. The song was a commercial success, peaking within the top-ten in the United States, Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, Italy, Sweden and the United Kingdom, and topped the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart. Madonna performed the song on the Who’s That Girl World Tour in 1987 – which was transmitted via satellite to the 1987 MTV Video Music Awards – and the Blond Ambition World Tour in 1990.

I like the extended versions but this 7” Mix is a nice addition for CAC too.
Thanks Paul.

Hi Paul, you must have seen the “commotion” on SDE’s comments section slamming her great new CD Finally Enough Love with all the new 12″ edits and previously unreleased or rare mixes which I like.
I noticed the original 7″ DJ Pro has the 4:10 “Movie House Edit” of the 9:46 12” version on the flip:

Not sure if you have this edit, maybe you know if it exists elsewhere. Thanks for this post!
You’re welcome, dj xray. I don’t have that promo at the moment however if someone would like to donate I would be happy to purchase a copy 🙂
I see 2 for sale on Discogs between $19 and $25 USD.
I would probably go for the $25 NM copy with better feedback.
Nice! I would be more than happy to donate for that purchase!
OMG thank you. I thought there was a 7″ remix too. Just need the LP version mastered by you to make it complete 😉
You’re welcome, David 🙂
What a great surprise this was! Thanks, Paul, for this single edit. You are so special to do this!!!
