Thank you, Paul! I remember going to see Level 42, when they were the opening act for Tina Turner. They were great, plus I already was into them, because of this song!
Thanks Paul!
Awesome! Thanks so much for posting this one Paul. Would you happen to have the 12″ singles for either “Running In The Family” or “Hot Water”? “Hot Water” was the tune that turned me into a Level 42 fan back in ’85.
Have a GREAT rest of the weekend!
I was never a big fan of this band but Hot Water was great!
I was listening to this Shep mix recently, so to see it now posted on your site is a thrill.
Thanks Paul 🙂
Thanks. There are two videos on YouTube playing the dub, and the left and right stereo channels of your rip are reversed from the channels in those videos. Any idea why this is?
Great Pettibone remix of one of Level 42’s best songs.
This is the song that turned me on to them. Finding out that the driving percussive bassline was actually played live (Mark King is a phenomenal bass player) made me seek out their other material.
There is a live video of them playing at Wembley where the computer/sequencer for the keyboard wouldn’t work and delayed starting this song – King did an improvised bass solo that damn near blew my mind and (once the issues were fixed) they rocked this song.
Thanks!
2016 is off to a flyer. I hope the 12s of these big 80’s groups keep coming! I’m hoping that 2016 can bring us some/more Madness / Madonna / Erasure / Dead or Alive / Pet shop boys / Kraftwerk / The B-52’s / Blondie / Level 42 / Thompson Twins / Whitesnake / Depeche Mode / New Order / Def Leppard / The Prodigy / Adam Ant / Duran Duran / The Human League / KLF / OMD / Queen & Gary Numan from yourself. Thanks! This is from a time that my car was kindof my bedroom 😉
You’re welcome Beukenoot. I hope that was a happy time for you 🙂
Thanks Paul a million. Do you also have Children Say and The Chant Has Begun?
Don’t think so Omar but I will check.
You’ve got my goosebumps giving you a standing ovation Paul!! The hairs on my body are upright, erect and applauding like mad!! Gee, I’m all-a-twitter over this one. And, here is the dub included. Wow, you’ve added another Edit Superstar to your discography, Mr. Tuta Aquino. Man, thanks so much for this 12-inch Paul. I can’t thank you enough!!
Have a grand weekend!!!
Jeff
Have a great weekend Jeff 🙂
this is driving me into a throwback frenzy. my introduction to this song was the video. i must’ve been 9 or 10 when i started bopping to that famous bassline. LOL. they should really release a super deluxe edition of the album with every damn remix and b-side properly remastered for posterity. thank you so much for this.
Probably won’t happen Matt since they already have a semi deluxe released 🙂
