Kraftwerk – Musique Non Stop (US 12″)

BURNING THE GROUND EXCLUSIVE 1986

RIP Kraftwerk Co-Founder Florian Schneider 1947-2020

“Musique Non Stop” is a 1986 single by German techno group Kraftwerk, which was featured on the album Electric Café. It was re-released as a remix on their 1991 album The Mix. The single was their first number one on Billboard Hot Dance Club Play and was one of two songs to make it to number one there.

The single is traditionally the final act during Kraftwerk concerts. In the early 1990s, a completely different version of “Musique Non-Stop” – slower and more melodic – was used extensively as a jingle on MTV Europe. Earlier, MTV Europe had already included elements from the original song and the video in the title graphics for MTV’s Greatest Hits.

I’m glad to see this post. There will never be another band like them.

Hi Paul, Thanks for putting a spotlight on, to me, the most influential and important band that impacted electronic music, and so many other groups, and musicians. Kraftwerk are at a level that other bands wish they could achieve. I remember when this first came out, and was blown away by how impressive it was, and same with the Electric Cafe album. I had been introduced to Kraftwerk with Computerworld, and caught up with all their albums at that point. They took their time perfecting each album and track, and although it took a lot of time between albums, they… Read more »

Take a bow, friends. Take a bow. One of the most important bands in music history. I´ve never seen them live, I´m sad to say. The double dvd “Minimum Maximum” is fantastic and a must have for every music enthusiast. Florian is dead but Kraftwerk will live forever, I´m sure about that.

Thank you Paul for this tremendous and phenomenal record and it’s a great tribute to the memory of Kraftwerk’s co-founder Florian Schneider. It’s one of my favorites from their discography. It’s a great bonus personally for me because I haven’t heard Francois K.’s mix in years. I so love the onomatopoeia beginning to the track. Kraftwerk was always so clever and innovative.

Thank you Paul for another of my favorites.

Grateful always,

Jeff

I had always assumed the 12″ was just the album version, so what a treat to find that it isn’t. Thank you, paul!

Actually, it is the same mix, being the 12” a “special edit” of the album a-side.

This tremendous memory of this quartet is appreciated, which I have had at the time of disco music, something of electronic dance. regards
