BURNING THE GROUND EXCLUSIVE 1989

PAUL CAN YOU RE UPLOAD THIS GEM PLEASE, THE LINK DONT WORK
Always one of my FAVORITE William Orbit mixes and thank you Paul for preserving it! It is interesting to note that the Orbit Mix featured on the UK/Euro/Australian releases is a different mix – more rock-sounding and less house. Also worth having.
Thanks paul for the upload. 1989 was the time when 12 inch extended mixes morphed from being actual extended versions of the single / album version into something totally different. Noticed that the orbit mix is a different key, and in some aspects sounds slower, doesn’t seem to have as much bight as the original. Would have been interesting if EMI (here in Australia anyway) released an extended of the album version, expanding the original drum base would have sounded awesome. I guess with the change of the decade, record companies were looking for something different. http://www.australian-charts.com/showitem.asp?interpret=Julian+Lennon&titel=Now+You%27re+In+Heaven&cat=s Just a polite… Read more »
Thank you very much for this Paul.
I loved this song so much during my youthful club days. Took me years to figure out it was Julian Lennon. Thank you!
Literally, Paul, you’ve put me in “Orbit” with this one. I’m a huge fan of Mr. William Orbit. Thank you for delighting me once again. This is bliss!!
Jeff
I really can’t believe I waited so long to post this record it’s one of my favorite remixes it’s super sexy and so fun. I love those bird squawking sounds 🙂
Oh Paul, you are so right. I am loving every second of this masterpiece. I am blissing-out to the dub as I type this to you. You really floor me with the best music. And it is so sexy, fun and, like you said, those bird squawking sounds are fantastic. Oh, and I must say I love the original version as well. Sort of like a Bowie record. And as for the other song, “Second Time” that was great as well. I love the part that has that voice box sound, like in Foxy’s “Get Off” and Peter Frampton’s “Do… Read more »
If you like William Orbit, one of his best remixes is ‘Love is a Shield’ by Camouflage. He took that song far higher than a new level.
Fantastic Paul!
Thank you for posting my request 🙂
You’re welcome David 🙂
Great choice, Paul! I love that song and I LOVE the remix. Totally underrated, Julian Lennon.
That´s a real shame.
I consider this a birthday present for me on Feb 23rd, Pauli 🙂
Thank you.
Thank you Song and Dance. Happy Birthday 🙂
Yes, Happy Birthday, Song_and_Dance!!! Enjoy!!!
Jeff
Thank you Jeff 🙂
I used to hear this on weekend “hot mix” radio shows on Top 40 stations at the time. It’s one of the first William Orbit remixes I ever heard, and still one of the best! Thanks!
This was a regular club favorite back in ’89 I used to hang out at an after hours club called “The Max” and this song always got me on the dance floor 🙂
