Jim Carrey – Cuban Pete (US 12″)

BURNING THE GROUND EXCLUSIVE 1994

“Cuban Pete”, is a Cuban rumba song composed by Joseph Norman (1906-1990). It was originally featured in the Black and White musical “Cuban Pete” from June 1946. The movie starred Cuban-born American actor Desi Arnaz who adopted the song as his theme song.

Cuban Pete was later performed by Desi Arnaz on his popular television sitcom “I Love Lucy” in the third episode The Diet on October 29, 1951.

I had this on cassette when it was released, and had found some decent rips of it online over the years. However, I’m glad that you finally ripped it because the quality of your tracks are better quality than most of the ones I’m able to find online! Thanks again!

I remember this song and how much I enjoyed it when I first heard it. I think I owned maxi EP in cassette but have discarded it a long time ago. So glad that you posted this on here. I mean just C&C Music Factory remixes, which I am a big fan, is one to cherish for a long time.

Thanks for all these less well-known tracks! May I make a suggestion for a future upload?

Teddy Pendergrass – Joy

Released in 1988. Classic 1980s smooth pop. I think BTG fans will love it!

I have the UK CD Single, but it left out the C & C mix on the b-side from this 12″ release.

Can’t wait to hear this one again.

Cheers Paul 🙂

I burst out laughing when I saw this one Paul! I loved this movie and this song too. I thought the soundtrack was excellent, but I can’t remember the remixes, which I believe I have on CD-5. I was obsessed with C & C and a lot they did. So looking forward to the “flashback” all over again. I may drag out the soundtrack too and give that a spin as well. Thank you Paul for surprising us all with something different.
