Thanks for this but I would love to hear remixes of We Don’t Have to Take Our Clothes of 🙂 🙂 Great site ! Regards.
Thank you so much for this Paul just loved Jermaine Stewart. Shame he was taken away from us all so young.
Thank you for all the hard work you do with the posts especially the Japan and Jermaine ones they are much appreciated thank you.
Thanks for the trivia about him singing backup on “Miss Me Blind.” I love info like that! I thought I knew a lot about 80s music but you always come up with tidbits of info I didn’t know about! 😉
Thanks so much, Paul!!!! This song was always a guilty pleasure of mine and as Jeff stated earlier, the remixes are what have always drawn me to almost any song. Back in 1983 when I bought a similar Word Is Out 12″, I had no idea who Julian Mendelsohn was (and neither did anyone else) but as the years progressed even into the 90s, people craved his mixes! It’s nice to hear this Dub and I never knew it existed back in the day. I’ve had a terrible past few weeks both personally and at work and this really brightened… Read more »
You’re welcome, Fred. Nice to hear that music is doing what it is supposed to do brighten your day. Cheers 🙂
Hi Fred,
I sincerely hope that things brighten for you personally and professionally. I don’t like to see anyone experience sadness in their lives. Thank goodness for the music that “heals” our spirits. Please take care of yourself Fred and know that you’re in my thoughts.
Jeff
“The Word Is Out” was my first introduction to Jermaine Stewart. WKTU played the song a lot and I was enraptured. Of course, this was before his “We Don’t Have To Take Our Clothes Off (To Have A Good Time)” made him a household name. I am really excited to get the 12-inch of “Word…” because of Julian Mendelsohn’s mix. I love my artists but it seems I like the guys behind the mixing desk even more. They really helped build my love for great remixing.
Thanks a lot Paul for this one. I can’t wait to hear it.
Jeff
You’re welcome, Jeff. Jermaine was a great talent so sad that AIDS took him away from us at age 39. I read that he was sort of discovered by Mikey Craig of Culture Club and Jermaine sang back up on “Miss Me Blind”.
