What a feeling, Paul! And keep that feeling as we keep turning up the heat
Excellent choice Paul. I loved this breakdance era and especially this Irene Cara song. The mixes are awesome and your re-rip sounds exquisite. Great news about the collaboration between Giorgio Moroder and Duran Duran. Can’t wait to hear these tracks.
I just listened to this yesterday. I guess great minds do think alike.
You blow me away Paul with all your varied tastes! I loved this era of break dance jams. As you know, Electro is near and dear to my heart. Although this isn’t necessarily Electro, more like synth-pop, it got a lot of attention from Breakers near and far. Loved that Giorgio Moroder was involved with this. His electronic productions are pioneering and legendary. Fantastic news about him producing Duran Duran. I can’t wait. I tried so hard myself to break dance but couldn’t. I even practiced on cardboard but fell flat. I’m still amazed that break dancing is still with… Read more »
Thank you, Jeff, as I mentioned in another comment I think this was one of the first 12″ singles I ever bought pretty sure Girls Just wanna Have Fun was another. Good times 🙂
Even though I’ve (quite bizarrely) never heard this before, given the year, producer and subject matter I kinda knew what it was going to sound like. 😀 Classic.
Did you ever learn to breakdance Paul?
Breakdance was a skill I never learned Jermajesty but I was very envious of those that mastered it. 🙂
From yesterday’s break dance post, I pulled out this Irene Cara gem from my collection and wondered how it would sound given the DJPaulT treatment. And here it is!! What a fun song with all of the sound FX of the break dance era. I had no idea Giorgio Moroder was involved, but it probably explains why I like it so much. I’ve been a big fan of his work up to and including the song and music video Right Here, Right Now with Kylie Minogue. What a fantastic treatment and great upload – especially for those of us isolation.… Read more »
Thanks dugn! Pretty sure this was one of the first 12″ singles I ever bought always loved it. Also in case, you did not know Giorgio Moroder has produced two tracks for the upcoming new Duran Duran album that is scheduled for release this year or next year.
Really cool! While not a big fan of Paper Gods, I liked the catchiness of Pressure Off and the EDM mood of Last Night In The City. Can’t wait to hear new tracks with Giorgio’s assist! Cheers, Paul
