Just a few weeks back, i had kind of an “Icehouse”-day, and listening to their albums all day long. Love this song. Do you happen to own a copy of “Touch the fire” by any chance?

Thank you so much, Paul! You’re the greatest. 🙂 Since you’re on an Icehouse kick, any chances of “Electric Blue” mixes popping up sometime soon?

This is excellent. I had heard the version you posted yesterday, but hadn’t heard this version before. Thanks for posting!

Thanks Paul for also posting this Extended Mix of “No promises”. It gives us a good opportunity to compare both mixes directly. Well I love both but I have to admit that this version is the better one even tho it comes out a little bit too short. Like you said it so well it’s really gorgeous and your crystal clear rip just sounds perfect (much better than what was released until now).

Have a great weekend

I have to agree with Omar that the remastering on some of those Extended 12 inch CD compilations were really bad. This is a great sounding rip and I do prefer this mix over the other one but they’re both good, and I am very thankful to get this, thank you Paul. And I’m glad there’s no lice involved in this one, I think that’s a plus, LOL

Great post Paul…..I don’t actually know much about Icehouse, apart from seeing them on a couple of repeats on Top Of The Pops performing “Hey Little Girl”, which I think was 1982. I’ve checked out “No Promises” video on youtube and liked the vibe of the song, and another cool group from Australia. Did you ever buy any 12″ of supergroup Electronic back in the late 80’s early 90’s, the members were New Order singer Bernard Sumner, ex-Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr and Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe from the Pet Shop Boys…..I really loved “Get the Message” original version and… Read more »

Thanks DJPaul,
I think this is an amazing extended version.
The real treatement on the mixer that it inspired.
(far from the dance version that probably this song didn’t need).
Beautiful is also the B-side. I’ve never heard before.

Your audio quality is fantastic!!!
Respect

Lice House? Sounds itchy for the scalp. Don’t share any combs, hats or headphones when listening to this one! Hehehe

Is this Licehouse or Icehouse? 🙂 Check the spelling on your site, Paul. 🙂

Thanks for the great rip!

Thanks Paul once again for this fantastic rip. I bought the Icehouse ext. mixes cd some years ago and it was awful. Too loud and many of the mixes were bad vinyl transfers . Your vinyl transfers are perfection.

I was secretly hoping we’d get more Icehouse Paul, and you surely delivered! This is excellent. I can’t wait to hear this version of the song. Love the fact that it was used in a ballet and all. I’m a huge fan of the art of dance, and I guess that’s why I gravitate towards dance music. My favorite television program is, “So You Think You Can Dance” with all the tremendous music that’s featured and choreography that blows my mind. Wow, Paul, I just adore you and your gifts to us. You really are an artist in the way… Read more »

copy/paste December 8th, 2017 at 6:50 am What can I say? You know I love Icehouse. You know I love “No Promises”. It is in fact my favourite single of this band which was very succesful and popular over here, leading to their famous German version od “Uniform” 🙂 So, all in all what can I say about this post? It is AAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWEEEEEESOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMEEEEEEEE Aren´t the first two minutes just absolutely fantastic. Oh, I love this song soooo much. “I could give you more Than just the shape of things Break every word Begin it all again Your name on a… Read more »
