Icehouse – Hey Little Girl (US 12″ Promo)

BURNING THE GROUND EXCLUSIVE 1983

A. Front

Re-Rip Newly Remastered!

Originally I posted this one on April 21, 2011. But for those who may have missed it or if you are a new reader just discovering BTG. I decided to give this one a new rip with my newer Ortofon Super 30 stylus. This 12″ is also being posted in 24 bit flac for the very first time!

“Hey Little Girl” is a single released by Australian band, Icehouse, the second single from the band’s 1982 album, Primitive Man. It was released in October, 1982, on Regular Records in 7″ Vinyl Single and 12″ Vinyl Single formats. UK and Europe releases by Chrysalis Records were also on 7″ and 12″ formats, but with different track listings. The single was then released in the US in 1983 on same formats. “Hey Little Girl” features Iva Davies using the Linn drum machine – the first for an Australian recording. It peaked at number seven on the Australian singles chart and #2 in Switzerland, #5 in Germany, Top 20 in UK Sweden and Netherlands, and #31 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart.

Thank you so very much for this re-rip, Paul. It was because of your first version of this 12″ that I was able to “relive my childhood days” as it were, as well as find a copy of the 12″ for my collection. This version is so much cleaner. I’m dancing with delight! 🙂

Brilliant track, Paul. The other 12″ is worth searching for, as it’s a bit longer and different enough to justify the purchase (in my opinion!)

Another awesome re-rip, Paul!
This is my introduction to Icehouse back in 1983, when it entered the UK Top 20.
I love Iva’s cool vocals, and what I love about their singles is that there are always brand new remixes for the US market.
Can’t wait for your re-rip of Electric Blue especially.
Thank you!

Dearest Paul, This was so nice of you to re-rip/remaster this 12-inch. I am so humbled. Thank you. I know I’ve asked you about this one before and I hope I wasn’t a pain with all the begging. Truly, you are wonderfully generous. Gosh, I can’t wait to get on home to download the thing. Also, and I hope everybody knows this, you really take the care and respect for bringing great sound forth. I’ve heard that the recently released 12-inch mixes on compact disc were quite disappointing. Thanks for your tender care and love over a finished product. I… Read more »
