Session singer Clare Torry, famous for her vocals on Pink Floyd’s “The Great Gig In The Sky” (from DSOTM) also sang background vocals on Culture Club’s “The War Song”. George knows great divas when he hears them!
Never knew this one before – thanks for breaking me into it. Not bad 🙂
So happy to see this one! I am the biggest Helen Terry fan! 🙂
thank you very much .have a nice weekend
Paul!! I love what you do on a day-to-day basis. You ALWAYS surprise us with your choices and make us swoon over the sonic quality. Thanks for this record. She should have gone on to bigger and better things. Such a voice. But it’s you Paul that is the real star. I love the commitment you have for lost music. Bravo Paul. You’re magnificent!!
Jeff
Thank you Jeff you are always so thoughtful in your comments I appreciate that.
Freakin awesome.
I don’t know this track, but I suspect that contrary to popular opinion amazing cover photo will be better than any song.
I noticed one of these mixes is absent from the Cherry Red reissue of her album, so thanks for that. 🙂
You’re welcome Jermajesty 🙂
Another excellent choice, thank you! If you seek out “Act Of Mercy” 12″, as another person suggested, please find the Canadian 12″ if you do, it comes with an “Alternative Mix” that isn’t on any other edition and is much better than the regular 12″ mix. Sadly, it doesn’t come in a picture sleeve so we won’t get your excellent art skills on that, but the music is worth it.
Thanks David I will try to track down a copy 🙂
Thank you! At some point I need to learn how to turn a flac file into a usable file for iTunes.
Conner I know it is possible to play flac in iTunes without converting it to something else losing possible quality. Just do a Google search on how to play flac in iTunes and I am sure you will find something. Or maybe one of our friendly readers will help you. I don’t use iTunes to play my flac files so I am of no help. I hope that you can figure it out the quality of music is so much better than mp3.
I love Helen’s voice. My favorite single by her was Act Of Mercy. Hopefully you could post that next Paul. Thanks.
The obly other one I have Omar is “Love Lies Lost”.
Nice track. great rip…
Thank you Ex15 🙂
Love Helen…thank you so much for this, DJ Paul!!!
You’re welcome Silver Blue 🙂
