Paul, is it possible to reupload this, please? Thanks
Thanks for another superb job!
Loved this track and the album it came from (Man of Colours) from the day it came out. Here’s an interesting piece of trivia for you. Iva co-wrote this song with none other than John Oates from Hall & Oates. I wonder if they worked together on other songs that have not been released.
Just saw on the other Electric Blue page hat you’d mentioned the John Oates collaboration. My apologies for playing parrot… 😉
Thank you very much Paul.
Niiiice, all these Icehouse posts come just in time, I have been bit by the Icehouse bug lately after revisiting my old albums. Alternate versions of their hits are always a treat. :DDD
Such a wonderful record. I´ll certainly keep an eye open for that on my next record fair.
To complete the holy trinity we only need the standard 12inch now, with its different extended mix, different dub mix and with the great b-side track, the rocky “Over My Head” – not written by Iva Davies but still great 🙂
Slight hiccup: the “12″ Version” 6:43 is the standard extended mix, of course.
Re-rip as previously posted in 2010 I believe.
Correct Ian new re-rip :
The 12″ version is by far my favorite mix of this song. Thank you so, so much, Paul! 🙂
@Jeff, I haven’t been able to enjoy this site as much as I would like these days because my internet is down in the building I live in. I am stuck on my phone for now, which takes away from the experience. But I do agree with you!
Wow I am so excited about this introduction to Icehouse, it’s all new to me, I think I’m going to spend the weekend listening to these. Thanks Paul
Memoryboy,
Paul has given me so many introductions to so many artists that are now my faves. And the board here has been so educational as well. What a perfect Universe, Burning The Ground is!! And Paul is our benevolent Supreme Being!!
Jeff
My favourite mixes on “Electric blue”. I always thought that coloured vinyls don’t sound as good as black ones. Maybe I was wrong your rip sounds great. Thank you Paul for all these Icehouse posts.
Colored vinyl typically sounds good especially if it is transparent. Picture discs on the other hand usually sound pretty bad. 🙂
Clear and transparent vinyl do sound best because of their purity. When they make black vinyl, they can recycle other melted discs to make the new ones. Or so I am told.
Jeff
The only drawback is this can’t be played on a laser turntable. I bet that’s something Paul has asked Santa about for many years. 😉
Thanks Paul for this gem…a sapphire, that is. 😀
Thank You Paul for this 2 singles, i love Icehouse!!
You’re welcome Guss 🙂
Paul, you are the King of the 12-inch!! And if you’ll forgive the “blue humor,” your collection of twelves is very well “hung” indeed!!! I’m salivating over the colored vinyl too!! Thanks tons for this rip!! You are so generous with these promos and such; please keep ’em coming!!
I wish I were home celebrating this record. Time goes so slow when you’re really wanting to hear a record that you’ve posted. Ah, patience is a virtue, so I’ll try to contain myself until quitting time.
Have a great day Paul!!
Jeff
Have a great day Jeff. It’ll be there when you get home 🙂
Gotta love colored vinyl, especially when the sound is as good. This is the only Icehouse song that got to enjoy on a regular basis due to my service days and being overseas a lot. I know they had others that wern’t as popular as this one was but they were a good group.
Thanks for the rip of this.
You’re welcome DJVeteran 🙂
Ooooh so blue 🙂 Lovely vinyl, I love those colored and multicolored versions. Why don´t I own a copy of this one?
What a treat to gift uns with two promo twelve inches, Paul. Thank you very much.
I will listen to these versions later this evening and probably submit another comment 🙂
You’re welcome Song_and_Dance. Love the colored vinyl. Enjoy! 🙂
