BURNING THE GROUND EXCLUSIVE 1983
“Imagination” was a new wave synth-pop tune released as the second single from the fourteenth studio album of the same name by Australian-American pop singer Helen Reddy. The single along with the album were both received poorly due to MCA Records lack of promotion for the album and it’s singles. “Imagination” failed to have any chart impact. A music video was filmed for the new wave-flavored song by Reddy’s daughter Traci who had just graduated from USC film school. With the help of her classmates and a loan from the bank, she made a most imaginative film out of “Imagination” for only $15,000.”

I remember when Helen was all over the radio in the 70’s. And then she wasn’t, which I blame on disco. I am guilty. A lot of my old albums (all artists) went to my friends or in the trash when disco fever was “all over the radio.” 30 years later and I re-discovered the music of Helen Reddy. During her hey day, I liked her radio hits but enjoyed just as much the album cuts. The first two albums before I Am Woman are fantastic right out of the gate and underappreciated. Her albums have aged well except for… Read more »
Ever since Denis mentioned this song the other day, I became intrigued by it. I am really over-the-moon to have the extended version on your site Paul. Wow, what don’t you have? You really are this musical dream maker!! I can’t wait to check it out. The music you post means the world to me Paul. I can ALWAYS trust you to deliver classics and new finds in the best quality possible. As you know, everything I’m downloading from you is in the highest 24 bit Flac files!! And boy, does that mean EVERYTHING!! Heck, your MP3s sound marvelous, but… Read more »
This is a very guilty pleasure of mine love the video too. I really hope you end up liking it too Jeff.
Have a great weekend. 🙂
Thank you Paul!
This is a real gift for the weekend. I hope that guests and friends with BTG will appreciate this post.
I thought you forgot about her since 2012, when you released “Make Love To Me (German 12″)”. 🙂
The “charts” were wrong about this song. This song has passed the test of time.
P.S.
It seems this is the first thing I asked you and got the next day. 🙂
You’re welcome, Denis. I actually had this 12″ pulled out already and was going to post it a week or so ago but did not get to it. By you asking for it yesterday I knew I had to post it. 🙂
Paul!
I wrote to you that I am ready to become a sponsor for “Dschinghis Khan – Moskau (7:20) / Rocking Son Of Dschinghis Khan (6:10)”, also I am ready to participate for this single…

The main song “Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)” you know it was a big hit.
But here is a song “Only Solutions” from “Tron” movie in extended version (5:38) is quite rare.
There is another diamond about which is forgotten and not released on CD.
“I wanna thank God ´cause She makes everything possible.” 🙂
Oh, I LOVE Helen. What a voice. Gives me shivers. “Imagination” is not really
one of my favourites but thank you for presenting Helen, Paul.
My cheeks are all red-ish. 🙂
You’re welcome Song And Dance 🙂
