Thank you Paul (times uncountable) This maxi is very rare and only a flat 128mp3 of it had surfaced. Until now. This rip is sooooo welcomed in my household, it is one of the few i could not get on vinyl. I started collecting in 1981. Maybe useless information, but the other few i missed, most of them i got to down via you, Paul. So again, thank you ! I am hoping for a deluxe version of this album, too. Wonder if there are more jewels , but unreleased from the Island vaults. Or should i say, universal… Anyway,… Read more »

Thank you for this. I remember asking a few years ago to please remember this post, after the sad situation with multiuploader shutting down. I think that was right after my computer’s hard drive and external USB drive failed within just a few months (12 weeks or less) of each other. Right after this happened I had a new desktop with another external drive for backup, (now I have 4 external drives), but always try to fit so much new stuff on them I might run out of space for backups again, if I am not careful. This time I… Read more »

One of the best comeback albums (and tour) in musical history. And a fine follow-up to the Compass Point trio. Never left my playlist since release.

I’ve “re-acquainting” myself with GJ’s music lately and this is quite embarrassing to mention but I did not know how disco music she has done before Pull to the Bumper and Slave to the Rhythm.
She’s on tour now and came to the Bay Area to perform last weekend. I missed it but hopefully another time I’ll get to see her in all her glory! Thanks for this post. 🙂

Dear Paul, I love when you showcase one of your favorites. It’s also wonderful how you honor requests. You do seem to get to them eventually and when you do,the final result is oh-so-exquisite. You are, after all, our sound deity! I also love how you stay with the times in that you do post items that are, in a way, part of our everyday culture. Ms. Jones just came out with her memoir, which seems like it will be an awesome read. She is the ultimate muse, performer, fashionista and all around D-I-V-A!! I love me some…GRACE!! I love… Read more »

Wonderful! My two favorite Grace Jones songs nailed together. Sadkin, Sly & Robbie… how can you go wrong? I don’t understand why people don’t gush about Living My Life the way they do the previous two releases. I’ve always loved it. Thank you.

Right! The 7” has a different mix. For example the bass comes in at the start and the percussions are heavier. I have it and hardly ever hear it somewhere else, that is most of the time a adapt from the 12”.

Thanks for this great single rip DJPaulT. BTW I’ve always wanted to hear the 12″ version of ‘The Apple Stretching’ and no one has ever posted that online as far as I know!

That would indeed be wonderful. You can never have enough of miss Jones. Or Sly&Robbie, for that matter. 🙂

Try youtube. A few uploads have been made. There is okay quality, nowhere near Paul’s, but still – to enjoy the extra verse the only way to go… for now.
